After every update app is broken

Every time you release a new version something new is broken and renders the app useless. This time I can‘t safe the result anymore. This is getting annoying!!!

Response from developer

(Update with correction is live) We understand and it’s far more troubling for us…we were forced to do a full rewrite with a clunky handover from previous Developer and it’s costing us! How long have you been using the App and did you ever write us a positive review during that time or is it only now that you’ve decided to write a review? Either way, please help us make things right! Shoot us an email and will get your issue sorted.

Update broke the app

This app was solid and one that was highly recommended for gathering data on the range. Until update 4.0. Since then, it has yet to work properly and presents inconsistent measurements. One example being: ‘Adjust to zero’ and ‘elevation/windage offset’ reflect two different group centers. If those both use inches, it should be the same number. If you have the old version, don’t update. If you are considering downloading, don’t until it’s fixed. There have been a few updates since the rewrite of the app, yet the core feature of providing accurate measurements has not been fixed. I have the old version, but work with 5 others who updated and now can’t use the app to get accurate measurements.

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to write! We have both of these issues resolved and about to release it. Check back and revisit this review then please! The rewrite was a necessary move for future features and we have had to resolve a few bugs such as this.

Doesn’t work.

App crashes every time I get to the last step to review my shots.

Richtig gute App

Nutze die App häufig und finde sie einfach praktisch. Find es super, dass man jetzt auch die Referenzgröße variieren kann. Weiter so 👍🏻

Update ruined it

Was a great app for a long time. Really liked being able to put multiple POA / groups on a single picture.
Would have liked to see a feature where you can select two points for scale then have a pop up ask you how far apart they are, rather than having to always use a set value.

The 2-stars come from the latest update when ruined the accuracy and my trust. I don’t know what’s wrong but I did a tall target test which should have been 44” high and +/- 0.25” windage. The app gave me 2.63” high and 1.7” right. Nowhere near accurate. Ran it multiple times to ensure no user error. A rollout like this, especially for a paid app, is unacceptable. The core function is ruined and a simple test would have shown them immediately.

Response from developer

We are addressing these issues. This update was a complete rewrite which is a foundation for some new functions, which you’ll get for no additional cost as you have for years. We’ve got a few bugs that we are working out…Offset is incorrect too. It’s unfortunate that you’re writing a bad review when you’ve used it happily for years and we never got a positive review in that time. Sadly, nearly all of our negative reviews are exactly this scenario and all were solved in just days. All of this will be solved very rapidly. FAQ

What does Ballistic X do?

Ballistic X is designed to help rifle shooters calculate their shot groups and precisely zero their rifles. It offers an intuitive workflow for analyzing target images, inputting shot data, and making necessary optic adjustments to achieve a perfect zero.

What are the key features of Ballistic X?

Key features include shot group calculation, an ATZ (Adjustment To Zero) feature for precise turret adjustments, support for MOA/MIL or INCH/CM units, and data labeling options for load development. An optional in-app purchase unlocks advanced statistical analysis like Mean Radius and CEP.

How much does Ballistic X cost?

The core functionality of Ballistic X is available with a single purchase, meaning no subscriptions are required for essential tools. Additional pro-level features are accessible through an optional in-app purchase called the 'Advanced Toolkit'.

Can I use Ballistic X with any target?

Yes, the app is designed to work seamlessly with any target, including steel targets. You can designate a reference size in the settings and mark points on the target corresponding to this reference for accurate calculations.

What is the ATZ feature?

ATZ stands for Adjustment To Zero. This feature dynamically helps you precisely adjust your rifle's turrets to bring your point of impact to your point of aim at any range. It supports all turret options and aims to save you ammunition and time when zeroing.
