About
BALO: World Tile Journey is a triple-tile matcher that takes you around the world — from Hanoi to New York, 12 cities, 60 levels.
HOW IT PLAYS
Tap a tile to send it to your tray. Three of a kind clears. The tray holds seven — run out of room and the level ends, so the order you peel the stack in is the real puzzle.
A CLOCK ON EVERY LEVEL
Every level runs on its own clock, from under two minutes to just over three depending on the level. Running out of time ends the level too, just like a full tray. A win always earns a star, and time to spare earns more.
ONE TICKET PER LEVEL
You have 5 tickets. Entering a level costs one, and a win gives it straight back — play well and you will rarely meet the wall. Out of tickets, one more arrives every 20 minutes, and the game still plays fine with no connection.
100 ORIGINAL ICONS
Every city has its own set: Hanoi egg coffee, Bangkok lotus, Delhi's Qutub Minar, Cairo koshari. Every icon was drawn for this game. Nothing came from a stock library. The boards too: 18 shapes to deal onto, from a conical hat to a mandala and a pyramid.
KNOW WHAT YOU'RE MATCHING
Each new city opens with an illustrated guide that names every icon. A child does not need to know the name of a dish to match three of them — but once they do, the board stops being a pile of patterns and becomes a market with names in it.
IT EASES YOU IN
The first two levels of every city are practice: fewer tiles, fewer kinds, enough to find your hands before that city starts asking real questions.
A LINE FOR EVERY WIN
Finish a level and a quotation card turns over — 121 lines drawn from public-domain works.
