Just bought a bundle, can’t view
We’ve always enjoyed the Banff FF World Tour and we were so happy to see that we can now stream many of the films. We purchased a bundle of 3 films and received an email acknowledging our order but we can’t view the films either on the website or in the app. Of course chat is closed at 10 o’clock at night so there is no help available. The eventlive site promises an “exceptional” viewing experience. In 2022 not being able to see purchased films does qualify as exceptional. The eventlive chat guidelines prohibit offensive remarks, abusive content, and vulgar language. Sounds like they have a lot of unhappy users. Lots of 1-star reviews here also seem to indicate the same thing.

Not very user friendly in my opinion. Should have content easily available to find and see. Difficult to search for, in my opinion. Would love to use this app, to watch things, but I’ll stick with YouTube, Netflix, etc for now.
Banff from home
I did the combo package from home and found it to be convenient I’m watching it over a period of time and watching all of the films.
The subject matter was a little different from previous years but as always The film festival was grand.

All though we miss the film festival at the Portsmouth Music Hall. Bringing the virtual into out home is fantastic. Hats off the all those who make this happen. Extraordinary stories and film as always. Cheers!

Can view all my purchased films in one place and can air play to a tv to get the full screen experience. Looking forward to future improvements to buy films within the app.

Not many good things came came as a result of covid but the one thing that did was…….. THE VIRTUAL FILM FESTIVAL!!! Thank you for giving us the ability to watch the film festival from the comfort of our home.
Worth it
I go every year to the film festival showing in Vernon. Sad we couldn’t do that this year but now I’m enjoying all the films from my comfy couch

Does not auto connect to tv
It might be my tv (HiSense) or the fact I use iPhone, but it did not cast to tv from the app. Even asked a friend who works at apple. Had to go through the website rather than app to play on a friends tv by HDMI cord from the computer. Finally downloaded a ROKU app to phone so I could go on internet/webpage for Banff. Would be nice for ROKU to have Banff app as a choice. But I’m sure there is a financial issue that prevents this.

I really wish I could screen the films through the app. I’d pay. I just want an easy way to watch it.
Casting works (but technical heads-up)
Casts from your phone with chrome cast, which is great. Only issue is that when it’s casting, it eventually starts playing on your phone too. You can pause it on your phone without affecting the casting, but it’s a little annoying to do that every time
Virtual BMFF Tour
It’s too bad we can’t see the World Tour in person this year, but I’m glad we can still see the work of these great filmmakers. I think the filmmaker intros should stay, even when we’re able to return to watching together.
Banff app - not playing purchased videos
Banff app not able to play purchased content. Very frustrating - tried all recommended troubleshooting suggestions!

Great Content
Love the great content that the Banff Center puts out every year. It’s great in these tough times of Covid that we can all continue to see the inspiring stories from the great outdoors.
