User reviews

New updates are buggy

The sound and pop up of the code on scan have been removed as of the last update (or not working properly). Have used this app for over five years and loved it but it’s unusable for my purposes without any indication at all about if the scan was processed. A shame but I will be using another going forward.

Terrible

If I could I would give it a zero. I’ve yet to find something, anything it will scan.

May just be too old

I have no functionality for this app on iphone11. I gave it a chance by deleting and reloading, but still zero functionality. I even tried taking a photo of a simple code, but the import-photo did not function either. Sorry, but it’s time to move on.

Useless

Scans code. Shows a website. DOESN’T OPEN THE WEBSITE!
Click on it. NOTHING!

Have to cut and paste it to browser.
Amateur

Doesn’t scan (which is kind of the point)!

I have an iPhone 6S with a camera that works great. The minute I manage to get any code in focus, the app pulls it out of focus and can’t scan it. Utterly useless app.

FAQ

What can this app do?

This app allows you to scan various barcode formats and QR codes. You can then choose to email the scanned codes, save them for future use, copy them to your clipboard for pasting into other applications, or search for them directly on the web. It also supports exporting scanned data and photos to your PC via iTunes file sharing.

What types of barcodes does it support?

The app supports a wide range of barcode formats, including EAN-8, UPC-E, ISBN-10, UPC-A, EAN-13, ISBN-13, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, QR Code, Code 128, Code 93, Farmacode, GS1 DataBar, and GS1 Data. This comprehensive support ensures compatibility with most common codes.

How do I scan a barcode?

To start scanning, tap the 'START SCAN FROM' button or shake your device. Align your camera with the barcode, ensuring it is well-lit and in focus. A green square will appear around the detected barcode, and it will be decoded and added to your scanned codes list.

Can I use this app for inventory or price checking?

While the app is excellent for scanning and capturing barcode data, it explicitly states that it will not check for prices. It is designed for data capture, organization, and export, making it useful for inventory tracking or managing product information.

How can I export my scanned data?

You can export your scanned codes and any associated photos to your PC using iTunes file sharing. This allows you to easily import the data into applications like Excel for further analysis or record-keeping.
