I passed the bar on my first try using barmax. I love that I can study anywhere, anytime.
No, just no
Took the February bar using this app. Felt woefully unprepared. The multiple choice questions seemed so different from those on the test. I had a glitch and couldn’t access info on the app from my phone for over a week. I plan to purchase another bar prep program next month.

I was upset I did not pass my first time. I decided to go all out and give myself a chance to succeed. I really want this and I still have to write my essays but so far I am enjoying the lectures and multiple choice questions. I enjoy studying from my phone and really happy Mehran created an affordable program for people who want to pass. I am looking forward to putting in the work and letting others know about BarMax so we can help others who need a voice. For me, I truly do want to change the world for the better.

Easy to use and accurate content. I like the outlines and courses very much. The quiz after each chapter is very helpful for immediate check-up after the course! Highly recommend!
Does not honor purchases from 2015
I purchased MBE prep in 2015. I wanted to see some materials and it does not let me access the account.
BarMax rocks
I used another bar review provider twice and did not pass the CA bar. I used BarMax and passed! They focused on what is actually tested, not the kitchen sink approach.

Took my Money but Didn’t Give Access
It has been more than 4 days since I paid for Barmax and I still don’t have access and haven’t been able to reach anyone there. I need to get ready and this is a disaster. Run from these guys!
Great tutoring. Okay materials.
I took the CA attorney exam, so admittedly my task was more limited — just essays. I didn’t feel like I could navigate the app that well, although the lectures were generally helpful, as were the materials. I really appreciated the print materials I bought separately more, because I had something in my hand and they were largely good. BarMax’s materials did serve as a useful (more updated) supplement, and their lectures were nice to listen to while doing other things. Outside of BarMax, I purchased and used Mary Rasick’s red California Performance Test essay book and blue Essay Exam Writing text for much of my learning. That being said, I took the exam using those, without BarMax, and failed. My second time, a year later, 16 years removed from law school, I took three weeks off from work and got the BarMax package that included 10 private tutoring hours, and I passed. It was fantastic. I worked with Jennifer exclusively, and I feel quite indebted, because she walked me through ideas I didn’t understand, taught me practical test-taking techniques, reviewed numerous practice essays of mine and gave useful feedback, and did a host of other little helpful things. Would highly recommend the private tutoring with Jennifer.

Bar Max did it!
I’m a foreign trained lawyer from the Dominican Republic with an LLM degree from St. Mary’s School of Law, passed the Texas Bar on my first try thanks in big part to Bar Max. Bar Max gives you the right amount of digestible information to pass the bar. The live sessions and their recordings were crucial in the final 3 weeks of study in helping me remember and organize the countless rules in my head. Thank you Bar Max!

Still useful as an attorney
I still use the outlines as a touch point for black letter law or, for example remembering what the defenses to contract formation are vs excuses from performance etc.
You get what you pay for
This is a good, inexpensive refresher course if you have had the bar exam before and/or already had a bar prep course. I absolutely do not recommend it as a first time taker.
Some of these outlines are a mess, the questions are really hit or miss, and the answers and response you get from some of the staff is even worse. Their practice questions aren’t even close in depth to MBE items.
Again, it’s not a bad course if you just need to review for a second license etc. But I would not try to lean into this solely out of the gate.

Just bought the Bar Review Course to do the New York Bar Exam in July 2024. The Course is structured to ensure that you’re successful. You are guaranteed to get out the program what you put in. All you require is discipline and stamina.
Awful app from a deceitful company
The misrepresentation that you have access to this app for life has been shown to be a lie from my experience. Testmax used frivolous reasons such as usage from different ip addresses falsely to prevent my use of the app.
