Unhappy with moderation team
I am upset with the moderation team after I made a report of an obvious predator taking advantage of younger, vulnerable members on Barq. The response I got was something along the lines of ‘consenting adults can make decisions for themselves’. So we are just going to pretend that as soon as someone turns 18, they’re invulnerable to being taken advantage of? Especially in the furry fandom, where a large portion of the community is neurodivergent, making them more vulnerable.
For context, a 47 year old is on the app inviting teens to a “cuddle party”. This user has already admitted to a user (whom will remain anonymous) that they are into age gap. Yet this same person is telling people the party isn’t NSFW. We have a 47 year old, who has admitted to fetishizing teens, inviting them to a cuddle party, and says it won’t be NSFW…..as adults who are able to reason, what do we obviously know the intention of this party is? Also, their status is constantly horny. This is an obvious attempt to lure young furs into what they think will be a wholesome party…but we all know that’s not the intention.
So my question is, why is the moderation team pretending like they can’t see what everyone else sees? Why is this being tolerated? This is lazy and negligent on behalf of the moderation team. Adults can be victims too, predators don’t discriminate.

It’s impossible to get into
I’ve tried so many times to make an account but the approval process is so much. I got denied for it being too “minimal” or not having my hometown? I guess I’m just not furry enough for barq. Also to message people you have to be level 3? With no information on how to even get to that level. I have friends who are level 5 and still get denied access to message people.

The place has become better
My experience despite being small and barely on ever, has been great with my second chance on the platform. Slowly but surely i hope to make friends on there and maybe find the one guy of my dreams no make it better than my dreams which is make him real.

BARQ wrote a statement defending babyfurs on X. I thought it would be more like the Nextdoor app but for furries … instead it just comes off as more of a dating/hookup app because you can display your sexuality and kinks and filter by gender and sexuality when looking for other furries near you. Babyfurs and other questionable kinks can exist there but the. other groups that maybe hold to conservative political views get targeted… I feel like one is much worse than the other but that’s just my opinion cause I no longer want anything to do with this app.

Account banned for helping someone set up theirs
Very disappointing experience with BARQ. I had an existing account and simply helped my girlfriend set up her own account. Her accounts were immediately banned after setup, and somehow my account ended up banned as well.
I spent several days going back and forth with support trying to get my account restored. I was eventually told that my account cannot be unbanned until all three of her banned accounts are gone, and they asked whether I have access to the email addresses associated with them. I don’t.
I understand having systems in place to prevent abuse, but legitimate users shouldn’t lose their accounts because they helped someone else with setup and then be given a resolution they can’t reasonably complete.
After this experience, I’ve deleted BARQ and won’t be using it anymore.

Major Privacy Violation—Devs Refuse to Remove Unauthorized Media
This app permits targeted harassment and privacy violations.
A user took a photo inside the private interior of my home and posted it without my consent. When confronted, the user blocked me and uploaded it out of spite.
I contacted the developers (Stichting BARQ) with a formal take-down request, but they flat-out refused to delete the image from their servers.
They actively protect harassers and ignore real-world safety concerns.
Avoid this app if you value your data privacy!

I don’t often write reviews, however, I e been with this app since day 1, Howlr before it, as others have mentioned, it’s a buggy mess, DMs are so unreliable literally everyone just recommends using telegram, been like that since launch.
The app also enables bad individuals who scam and lie, and won’t do anything to their accounts, even if that person you trusted into your home takes photos and posts them on the app without permission, they will not remove the image despite you being the owner.
I’ve literally had images removed with ease on twitter / X even from Hollywood actors who used my content without permission.
But these guys, nope, so, went over their heads and reported all this to Apple themselves.
I honestly hope your app fails.

It’s been 3 days and I still haven’t gotten approved, I told my friend about it and he got in as soon as he made his. I got no idea what’s going on, I have everything that they asked to put and more. Like dawg do it job better
Good concept, Bad execution
A lot of quality-of-life improvements are still needed. Message notifications are practically nonexistent, and the app overall feels underdeveloped, with bugs that can be frustrating to users.
I really love the concept, though, and I hope to increase my rating in the future as the app improves. It has the potential to be a great way to build a strong community.

At one point this app didnt allow you to have ACAB in your profile, they also recently platformed someone that said a part of the furry community should be crucified, and then when they got backlash by sympathizers abouy the posted apologies about it they just deleted the apologies. Terrible app, terrible management, find your friends and community some other way.

Neuerdings braucht man Ruf um die App voll nutzen zu können. Und die benötigte letzte Stufe bekommt man nur gegen Bezahlung. Man wird ohne diese nicht mal angezeigt. Das bedeutet also man erscheint nicht in der Suche und ist somit für alle unsichtbar. Wer denkt sich denn so einen Mist aus? Man kann sämtliche basics nicht nutzen die vorher problemlos nutzbar waren. Und das nennen die "Support".... Leute Support ist freiwillig und keine Zwangszahlung damit man die app benutzen darf. Da eine Kontaktaufnahme und Posts in Gruppen nun unmöglich sind wars das für mich mit Barq. Da ist Netflix billiger! Jetzt ist es nur noch einen von vielen Dating Trash Apps die die das Geld aus der Tasche ziehen wollen...

Really stupid simple to sign up and create a account however, for some unknown issues that I can not upload any pictures of my sonas. The app allows me to tap and get to that point but other than that nothing happens beyond that so it’s frustrating to create an account that you can’t express yourself….

Reputation levels prevent you from doing anything without paying.
Worked fine for a bit, then suddenly you need to have reputation level 5 to do anything more than like posts, comments, and profiles. You can’t start conversations, you can’t participate in groups, and your profile isn’t shown to anyone without reputation level 5. The only way it tells me it’s possible at all to get reputation level 5 is to be a paid supporter. So basically the entire usability of the app is paywalled now
