The “new” app always crush I prefer this one
The device and app are worthless
The coaster auto completes steps just by leaving an empty glass perfectly still on the scale. You can’t measure anything correctly because the coaster completes over half, if not the full step, for that ingredient before moving onto the next. You can’t cancel a drink you’re making to restart you just have to unplug the scale, plug it back in, re-pair the Bluetooth, and restart your drink process. There is no way to reset the device in the app. There is no way to go back a step and start it over if the scale just completes it for you in 3 seconds with no activity by you.. the whole thing is beyond worthless. Do not waste your money on it.

APP IS AN UTTER JOKE
I have a whole lot of liquors, mixers and several different kinds of booze. And after I entered everything I have (which was a pain) it's claiming it can only make about six drinks, ridiculous. Then every time you try to create your own recipe it can’t save and then won’t show up as a drink you have created. Great idea but the app nearly ruins it. It also doesn’t look like there’s a way to just turn on the mixing feature, so I can put whatever I want to in it and just mix it. Again great idea & concept but very poorly executed. Until they fix the app I would not buy.

Was excited, but…
My son got me the Barsys Smart Coaster 2.0, so naturally I was excited to begin messing around with it. Finding the My Bar section, I figured I’d add some of my liquors. I started with bourbon, of which it successfully found 37 of my 100+ bottles. Even missed a ton of very easily accessible, and common bourbons like Maker’s Mark and Knob Creek. From a functionality perspective, it seems like it should do what is intended if it recognizes more liquors. Giving it a 3 star review based on not identifying common liquors. Hopefully the list grows.

Unreliable
I like this system for the most part. I’ve had to replace my canister 2 times because it stops spinning. My other issue is that I receive multiple emails every week with new cocktails but when I check the app there’re not there. I emailed them about this problem. Said they were working on it . So far nothing has changed. This would be a great system if they fixed the issues. Also they have added a feature which requires me log in with my DOB and phone# each time. Very annoying and time consuming. My husband does not have to do this on his phone. I have contacted them about this also.

Want to make cocktails quickly? Measure by volume, not weight.
I wasted the time to punch in every liquor and mixer I had, only to be presented with a rather short basic list of cocktails I could make. Frankly, that would have been the ONLY benefit for this app. Get yourself a jigger and a better cocktail recipe app, and save yourself lots of time, wasted bar/counter space and $$$$. Seriously, you can pour and measure ingredients way faster with a jigger or measuring cup than the silly cheap-looking lighted coaster/scale with a plastic glass and useless magnetic rotor. HINT: cocktail recipes are by volume, NOT weight. Perhaps mildly entertaining for high-schoolers, that are wow’ed by colorful moving lights, though.
P.S. I got BarSys coaster scale as a gift, and feel badly for how much $ my gift-giver forfeited on this waste of space. And I’ll have to haul it out for snow when they visit next, before I try to pawn it off on eBay.

Latest version broken
The Barsys Coaster is great, but this app has become a horrible experience. A short while ago they added age verification, and since then I have to enter my birthday and mobile phone everytime I use the app. It often fails to complete the process, rendering the coaster unusable. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it to try to fix the issue. No luck. I’ve written support several times and have received no response. My only remaining option before completely giving up on this app and deleting it is to leave this review. I hope they fix these issues.

Favorite Way to Learn New Drinks!
This coaster had been great for keeping drink recipes organized so I don’t have to get searching around through lots of different ones and helps me make them quickly. Had been great for utilizing the home bar
Great for mixed drinks
This is a great device for the amateur bar keep. At first the app was a little difficult to get through and understand, but once you have it figured out…smooth like a cocktail. I do like that you can customize your recipes and add what you have in your bar to pick out a drink. Overall I would recommend!!!

Awesome system
The Barsys Coaster and App are the perfect combination. It’s great at get togethers when you don’t know how to make a certain drink. Just look it up or add it to your favorites and no need getting shot glasses dirty it’s all done for you on the coaster and app. All my friends have got one after seeing mine

Game Changer
This app is incredible. Extremely easy to add the liquor, mixers,etc. and then are giving countless drinks from your home bar. Makes it quick and easy to make drinks you know you love, or to find your new favorite. Absolutely love the new app. Very user friends and immersive for the drinking experience.

Amazing product ! App could be better though.
So I'm loving the coaster, makes making drinks w friends and family fun and easy, but the app could be a little better. Sometimes when I place the cup on the coaster and hit mix, it doesn't do anything. I have to restart it a couple of times to get it going. Other then that I'm loving it!

The Coaster (when it works) is very convenient and fun to use. There are a few things that I would love the app to update:

- Variety of cocktails: I learn many new names and concepts of cocktails available through the app.

- Glitches: Very glitchy. It’s difficult to add drinks via barcode to “My Bar”. I have deleted and re-installed the apps several times.
- Coaster works when it feels like it: I have the Coaster with the cup and I feel like it is such a hassle for the cup to connect to the coaster. It is embarrassing when you have company over and your coaster doesn’t work.

I’m trying to create a profile but I get stuck at the phone number section. The app is not sending me a code

Other than the constant issues of connecting to the coaster and getting it to start making a drink the app need work! When I am adding liquor or mixers why can’t I just select what I have and add them all at the same time? Who cares if I have 8 16 or 32 oz of a liquor? If you can recommend a drink where I add 32 oz of vodka then I’ll take it. Just hope the coaster keeps up.

Most apps are complicated and confusing. This app is very easy to use! Plus they have great products for sale as well! If you haven’t already download the app! 🍷👍🏻
Fantastic addition to my bar
I got this for Christmas last year. I absolutely love that it takes the guess work out of making drinks with what I have in my cabinet. The only annoying part is that they send out emails with new drinks to try. When I click on the link it doesn’t take me to the recipe. I also could not find it in the app.

Game Changer!!
So I don’t personally own one (asked for one for my upcoming birthday, fingers crossed), but my best friend owns one and this is a GAME CHANGER for everyone who loves to try new drinks! It has so many creative, flavorful concoctions! Perfect look to complete your bar cart!!
You can be an expert bartender too!
Bartender quality drinks at home! It doesn’t get much easier than pouring until the coaster turns green. Really like the ability to look for new cocktails based on what I have on hand. Also love that I can create my own recipes.
Makes great drinks when it’s on the job.
Coaster makes measuring easy and has a ton of recipes that will keep the family entertained for a long time. However the app is kind of glitchy. Sometime it works and works fine sometime it pairs with the coaster but does not start the spin in the mixing cup nor prompt you to pour the spirits. Overall it’s a great tool when it works but when it doesn’t, we’ll it’s just there.
