Ok
It is not accurate at all.
Learn how to use the app first!
I don’t review apps, but I felt inclined to respond to the rash of one star ratings of this app based on not using it correctly. This app is a great option to buying an overly expensive speed gun (which aren’t accurate either unless you know how to use one). That said, it will over rate the speed if you don’t choose the exact release point and crossing home plate point as the developer states in the instructions. This app is not a tap tap stop watch. I would also add filming 90° to the mound/plate (and filing at 240fps as recommended) so you can choose the exact position of the ball leaving the hand (or mound if the pitcher’s release point still needs work ;). The developer brilliantly incorporated the mathematics behind calculating speed over a very specific distance using slo-mo video. Great job!

Flawed- Overstates speed
As others have said, it doesn’t consider release point/ assumed pitcher releases from the mound. As a result speeds are 9-10% less than this tells you. They should spend a small bit of energy helping adjust for that.
But, if you just use this and adjust down by about 10%, you’ll get a pretty decent number.

Does not work
Terrible doesn’t even work. Waste of money
Great
Great accurate app uses math
ReSubmitting my Review
This APP is terrific and the developer stands behind the use of the APP. I submitted a question and he responded right away with a solution. I highly recommend this App! A great way to improve speed and mechanics
Well thought out app
Well thought out app, surprisingly accurate. Easy to use as well. Only improvement I’d like to see would be to be able to go literally frame by frame for greater accuracy. But pretty on the money for ballpark of pitching speed.
Lacks features
Good app but it needs the ability to export video clip that includes speed graphic and other info such as pitcher name team and event location etc
Just a calculator of time and distance
No camera function. You don’t need an app for this.
Waste of money
This app is a waste of money I want my money back
not too great
i got this app for 3 bucks which was a waste of money and this doesn’t even work it’s a waste of money don’t buy.
WASTE OF MONEY!
This app is essentially using a stopwatch and calculating the speed with simple Division! It’s extremely difficult To get an accurate reading.
Meh
ITS PRETTY GOOOOOD
Wonderful
Works great, very accurate and easy to use.
Over estimates speed
The app is really nice design but doesn’t take into account the distance from the pitching plate to the release point. So the distance is actually much shorter than the entered pitching distance so the calculated speed is too high. We tried this on our son’s 10U league and also at MLB games and it was 5 to 10 mph higher than the radar.

Not bad
Would have given five stars if the pitching rubber and plate had a distance point finder. Release points are only as good as camera to pinpoint.
Very Easy to Use
This app seems to be the easiest I’ve found. Use your own video, mark the release and when it crosses the plate. There’s nothing to it, and it’s extremely accurate.
Awesome for young pitchers
I’m a 15 year old freshman who wanted to know my velocity. I was going to buy a radar gun but I didn’t want to just in case I wasn’t good enough to pitch. This is a great investment, especially since some radar guns can be 100$+
Ok, but no export functionality
Fine for checking speed, but I’d like to be able to save and export the video.
Great app, but need steady hands
This app works really well except that when a video is a bit longer in length, the scrubber on the timeline is very sensitive to the point where lifting up your finger will accidentally advance or rewind the video a few frames or more, which results in a significantly different speed calc, especially at shorter distance settings. Perhaps a way to further “zoom in” on the timeline to have the frame separation spaced further apart would be a worthwhile effort. Great coaching tool though; helps dial in what is effective for mechanical changes and their affect on velocity.
