About

BasesCovered puts your softball season in one app instead of six. The schedule, the roster, team messages, the scorebook and every stat live in one place, so the coach, the parents and the players are working from the same information. It's built for youth softball at every level, from rec to all-stars to travel. I'm a varsity high school head coach, and I still coach 10U and 14U. I built BasesCovered because I was spending more time running the season than coaching it. FOLLOW EVERY GAME, LIVE • The live score on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: the inning, the runners, who's up and the last play, updated with every play the scorekeeper records • A live card on your home screen whenever one of your teams is playing. Tap it for the full scoreboard. • Grandparents and fans follow along too, with names shown the way the team chooses KEEP THE BOOK, EVEN WITH NO SIGNAL • A full scorebook built for the dugout, play by play, with balls and strikes if you want them • It works offline. Every play waits on the phone and sends itself when the signal comes back. • Hand a volunteer a scorekeeper link. They don't need an account. • Box scores, player cards and a game recap, ready by the drive home EVERY STAT, EVERY GAME • Batting, pitching and catching for every player, for the season or a single game • Innings, ERA, WHIP, strikeouts and pitch counts for pitchers; innings caught, steals and caught stealing for catchers • Game Balls and milestones go in each player's trophy case CALL A BULLPEN • Mount an iPhone behind or beside the plate and it calls every pitch: ball or strike, where it crossed, how fast, said out loud • A picture of every pitch at the plate, a heat map of where they went, and the zone in 3D • Flip any call and the count and the numbers follow • Target practice: pick the spot before each pitch and see how close it came • Try it on a drawn field before you mount the phone FOR COACHES • Roster, schedule and RSVPs in one place, so you know who's coming before you write the lineup • Message the whole team, just the parents, just the players or just the coaches • Build lineups, track pitch counts, develop players and teams, and plan practice from a drill library • Ask Ace, the built-in assistant, to plan a practice or build a lineup. It shows you exactly what it will do and waits for your OK. FOR FAMILIES • A daily brief for each kid: where to be, when to leave and where she's batting • "Next up" widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen • RSVP in a tap, even right from the notification • Messages from the coaches, plus the season's photos and videos • Players see the lineup before the game SAFE BY DESIGN • Player accounts are for athletes 13 and older. Younger players take part through a parent's account. • Only a player's own coaches and parents can message her privately. • Report anything that shouldn't be there and block anyone. Coaches can remove posts on their team. • Delete your account any time from Settings. Try a practice game from the sign-in screen. You don't need an account.

What's New in BasesCovered

1.3.0

• Post-game huddle: post the final and the scorekeeper opens a summary to read to the team. Who hit, walks and steals, strikeouts, runners thrown out, errors and the plays worth naming, with the full box score under it. • Obstruction and interference calls on the scorekeeper. Pick who it was on, then the call, and the book scores it the way the rulebook does. • The other team's lineup in seconds: set how many bat in one step, load the lineup from a game you played them before, and name or number their batter while she's up. • Each half-inning, the scorekeeper asks whether the team taking the field changed its pitcher or catcher. • A parent who kept the book on a scorekeeper link now sees the result after posting it. • Share plays from the community library in messages. • Strike Zone keeps track of the ball better on a real field.
