Disappointing
I had a very disappointing experience with Bayut and its customer support.
I found a studio apartment through Bayut and paid AED 3,000 as a booking amount to the real estate agency. After receiving my payment, the agency changed the administrative fees and later informed me that the original studio I had booked, Studio 502, had been sold to another customer. They then offered me a different apartment, Studio 202, which I had never agreed to rent. Despite requesting a refund, the agency refused to return my money.
I contacted Bayut Support, hoping they would help resolve the issue or at least hold the agency accountable through their platform. However, their response was essentially that they do not get involved in monetary disputes and that I should deal with the agency directly or approach the authorities.
I understand that Bayut may not be legally responsible for refunding my money, but as a customer who found the property through their platform, I expected more meaningful assistance when a serious issue arose with an advertised property and its agent. Simply directing customers elsewhere after a problem occurs is extremely disappointing.
This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Bayut. I hope the team takes complaints like this more seriously and provides better support to customers who face questionable practices from agencies listed on its platform.
