Storkower Str., waiting for the board to load. The glyph jumped up and down while it worked — pinned to the top of a container that changed height whenever the title collapsed. It holds still now, or zooms gently in place, and not at all when Reduce Motion is on. When the fetch failed, all it ever said was "API Error code: 503". No sentence, no way back. An error now says what happened in your own language, prints the technical line underneath — HTTP 503 · Storkower Str. · 13:00 — and offers Retry, on all four screens that can fail. The old Retry was a label shaped like a button; nothing in the app could try again without leaving the screen and coming back. The station widget had drifted from the app it belongs to: platforms in plain grey, a line capsule with the wrong corner, destinations losing their middle inside margins nobody asked for. The platform is a pill again, the capsule matches, the margins gave back their width, and there is an extraLarge layout for the space it always deserved. On the watch, the corner complication said how far and never which way. The bearing had been sitting in the data all along. It reads 350 m NE now. A circular complication joins it — the letters over the distance, in their own colour — and the families that had been quietly commented out are back. The last leg was a walk to Schalkauer Str., and the card said exactly that: a time, a small walking figure, the street name, an arrow — and then nothing. The destination was an address rather than a station, and an address had no name to give. Now the walk reads all the way through: 350 m, and the time you arrive. The card carries its destination at the top again, and a bar that keeps moving on its own through the hour when nothing can refresh it. A U9 leg once announced that service was normal, that some lines were partly cancelled, and that details were available elsewhere — in red, with a warning not to board. What it had actually been handed was two notices: "medium occupancy expected", and the word BVG, filed by BVG as a remark about itself. Given nothing to summarise, the summary invented something. Operator credits are dropped before summarising now, and the list still shows them. One sentence per leg, written once, and it leaves when the notice leaves. Another notice named four lines — S3, S5, S7, S9 — and back came a warning about S32 through S50, a sequence carried on past the end of the list as though those were stations. None of it was ever there. Line numbers, stops, platforms and times are checked against the source now; what was invented gets one chance to disappear, and if it stays, the notice arrives as it was written, cause and place intact — signal repair at Hackescher Markt.
