About

This completely free app (no ads) is intended for family members, teachers and others to better understand the impact Blue Cone Monochromacy (BCM - a rare genetic eye condition) has on color vision. The simulator shows a white line that can be moved sliding a finger using a light touch. Normal colors (mixtures of red, green and blue) are to the left of the line. To the right of the white line red has been removed from the image leaving only mixtures of blue and green which approximates BCM color vision. To someone with normal vision each side will look very different. To someone with BCM the two sides will look almost the same (see the help section for why this is not exact due to camera and display limitations). The developer of this app has BCM. See BCMvideo app for an active video image with red removed.
