Arbitrary Rankings
I was excited about this app, but the metrics they use to rank officials are shaky at best. For instance, Rep. A. Ocasio-Cortez loses a full 20% of her consistency score for being undecided on a contempt measure for the Clintons over the Epstein depositions (despite consistently supporting the full release of the files), but other members of Congress who have been blatantly inconsistent on the Epstein files since 2024 (ie Rep. M. Collins) are not penalized for it. Similarly, few 2020 election deniers are penalized in their scores, making me believe this ranking system they tote as being unbiased and fair is completely arbitrary to the admins. The ranking isn’t the only feature the app offers, but seeing as it presents itself as an unbiased source for seeing what members of Congress are up to, I find myself more apt to just download a news app or substack instead.
