Dev took payments for the app then ghosted us
The dev took payments for the app including a $50 lifetime payment before abandoning development.
Great Lemmy Client
Bean is an aesthetically pleasing, feature-rich client for browsing Lemmy. It’s made even better by the fact that the developer responds quickly to posts about bugs and feature requests, and he seems truly intent on making this a great app!
Update: While I still love the look of Bean, development stopped shortly after switching to an in-app-purchases model. I paid for a “lifetime” subscription expecting the “lifetime” of the app to be longer than just a couple of months.
By now, a few free apps have many features that Bean lacks. That said, if development resumes on Bean, and if the features catch up to the other apps, I’d likely switch back to this app in a heartbeat.

Abandoned
Paid for the lifetime membership like many others and the author just kinda disappeared. Keeps saying there will be updates but hasn’t done anything in 2 months. Just saying, be careful. Wait until there’s momentum before buying into this. In the meantime I’ve completely stopped using it.
Great interface, but stalled development
This app has the best overall interface for Lemmy but the development has stalled out with the developer not delivering on promised features. Do not buy the membership. I paid for it and, currently, regret supporting the app considering how quickly development stalled out after the subscription was launched.

Wait for active development before buying anything
After Bean 1.0 was released, the whole development basically stopped. One of the devs said they were too busy with other projects and didn’t have time to spend on Bean until the end of Oct.
There is a difference between Bean in beta and not spending full time on it because they have other projects vs. releasing an actual product with expensive IAP that actually does deserve some on-going active support regardless. They should’ve waited to release it until they have the resources they need to support the app. Their excuse is not valid as a business.
I regretted getting the lifetime perk. Voyager and other apps are getting updates for free.

My current Lemmy app.
Bean is my current daily Lemmy app. Very complete features, including notifications. Still some work to do (especially in the groups) if it’s already great.
Beautiful app
After using this app for 30 seconds I got the lifetime membership. This is an app I want to support. It's so nice I highly recommend it. I've tried nearly every other app and they just don't work for me. I don't like em but this one is awesome
