APP crashes. OS/Phone OEM not interoperable.
Hello from tornado alley. I initially acquired four of these radios for emergency communication backup system. The ease of use for the mobile apps isn’t there.
On Apple the native messaging app works well from iPhone to iPhone, but it does not work with ATAK. Pixel devices worked well for ATAK however the PTT buttons don’t work on the screen with pixel devices.
Samsung devices running android worked well as an ATAK system, but would not work well in the native app outside of ATAK.
Overall, the throughput is too low and none of the phones/apps work 100% as intended. During a communications outage, this system would be more trouble than it’s worth as it sits today.
Not emergency ready.
I do not recommend them.
