What's New in Beasts of the Field

1.0.1

August 28, 2026

NEW Beastmont's briefings. Your mentor now walks you through each part of the journal the first time you open it: the collection, the battle tab, the satchel, a creature's plate, and the paddock. Shorter notes appear where they matter, from spending a frame of film to letting a specimen go. Every transcript is kept in the Field Book if you want to read one again. Move field notes. Move descriptions and their real effects (status chances, stat changes, recoil, drain, multi hit) now appear on the creature plate and in battle. Tap the "?" in the move panel, or press and hold any move. Share any catch. Every specimen plate now carries SHARE THIS PLATE, not just new discoveries. Recruit from your contacts. Invite the people you already know straight from the Friends sheet. Your address book is read on your device only and never leaves it. Signposts in the opening. The send off now shows you exactly which tab holds the Wilds, the Beast Masters, and the Field Network, drawn as a live copy of your own tab bar. FIXED The paddock no longer crashes on large collections. Photographs are now decoded at the size they are shown, so the journal, the paddock, and the camera roll all use a fraction of the memory they used to. Descriptions on several screens were blurred or hidden under the title bar on iOS 26. Sheets sit flat and legible again. "Mount in journal" is pinned to the bottom of the develop result, so it can never scroll out of reach. Better cutouts. A cut that grabbed the whole building instead of the bird is now refused, with a note on how to reframe. Recuts done by hand always show up on the plate. Tapping a notification on a cold start no longer strands you on a screen with no way out. Every sheet has a way to close it.
