Broken
It use to be a great app, but now it doesnโt work anymore. Can we please fix this app??!
Freaking out
Absolutely love this app, but for some reason, itโs not letting me do what I do with the app for any of the songs on YouTube not even my own music that I posted that is actually made by me like my own tracks. I canโt even it just keep saying import air help me out.
Not working
The past 3 YouTube beats Iโve tried to download doesnโt work it gives me an error.. Iโm not trying to rip any one off. Just trying to practice and have music to share with friends

Awesome app. Super easy to use. But lately, itโs been crashing. I hope they fix the issue soon.
Donโt know why you decided to ruin the app but now itโs so bad that Iโm uninstalling it.
Update: Looks like the developer is doubling down on making the app worse. I guess it was just was too simple and worked too well for too long. Oh no, we canโt have that. Letโs destroy everything what worked and replace it with barely functional tackiness. Complete with a random burgundy stage curtain framing the main menu for some reason.
The whole user interface is different (for the worse). It has all these tacky buttons around and some of them donโt work. Like the one thatโs supposed to open files. It just stalls. I couldnโt even share an audio file to open it in the app. Nothing works and the app looks like a pop-up ad that you have to close before you can start a new game in a free chess app. Uninstalled until the real app comes back.

What happened?
Why is the interface so different? Now it wants me to log into YouTube, but takes me round and round when I try. What the h*** happened to this app? It used to be so easy and elegant to use. Get the URL and go.

Awesome support services
The app is super helpful for improving my guitar skills. You can download YouTube clips with a single button, save them, repeat selected sections, and play them back over and over. Itโs the best app I know of for any musician.
Update has fixed the app.
The new ui takes a little getting used to if coming from an earlier version however all the great features remain and work well. The developer also responds to issues quickly. Well worth getting.
Great update
Iโve been using Beat Time for years to segment, slow down, and loop my video tracks and videos from YouTube. Itโs the best at slowing a video down without distorting the audio, and. a wonderful learning tool that we recommend to all of our hammered dulcimer students at HD Homeland.
The developer, Guy, is very responsive to problems. And in fact, I emailed him about a problem with YouTube videos right while he was working on this new big UI update and he took the time to try to fix it to include.
And sure enough he found the fix! Canโt ask for more than that from a developer. And the UI improvements that he made in this release are great. They address things like renaming and organizing files and improvements in the interface. All for the better! I love this app. Thanks so much.

New update today June 13, 2025 and my absolute favorite FIVE STAR app is still kicking it!
Incredibly useful app!
Iโve been using this app almost daily for about a decade now, and it has made my personal and professional life so much easier. There are other music apps that let you slow down songs, but this one has been the only truly reliable one that Iโve used. Having the ability to import songs from almost any source, slow them down, transpose them, mark and repeat parts or sections, export those sections or entire songs in new formats, etc. is exactly what I look for in an app. By far and away, the best feature is the ability to import audio directly from YT and save the files for later use. Of course, this feature can sometimes be at the whim of YTโs system, but the Beat Time! developer is always incredibly quick to update things to keep everything running smoothly.

This is an excellent app. I had a few issues and wrote to guy for support. The customer service I got from him was simply outstanding.
Help!
I used to use beat time to convert YouTube videos and it was perfect! Now when I try to convert a video it shuts down and goes back to my Home Screen. Iโve tried it on my iPad mini 6 and iPhone 13 and the shut down keeps happening. Whatโs wrong?
The best app for musicians
I use this app to learn new songs. You can download any song from YouTube directly into the app and save it there. You can change the key and play sections at any speed you want. Itโs the best app for musicians.
Excellent tool
Iโve been using it for a long time now, Iโm able to download YouTube vids and change key, change speed, export a section of vid or mp3, and save a slowed don file too, I recommend it to all players.
