About

Runners have race times. Lifters have PRs. Now everyone has a number that levels the field: your heart. BeatRace turns the heart data your wearable already collects into the number that matters — your Fitness Percentile: where your cardio fitness stands against people your age and sex, worldwide or right in your city. No matter your sport, your pace, or your gym, heart fitness is the great equalizer. Sync, see your standing, and let a little friendly competition keep you moving. CLIMB THE LEADERBOARDS • Global, country, and city rankings — take on the world or your own neighborhood • Filter by gender and age group (18–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50+) • Race on multiple fronts: separate boards for Resting HR, HRV, Max HR, 7-Day Consistency, and HRV Improvement • Presets like Elite Athletes, Heart Champions, Local Heroes, and Rising Athletes • Jump straight to your own position — even outside the top 100 • Rankings update after each sync KNOW YOUR ENGINE • Estimated VO₂ max and a fitness age to compare with your chronological age • Resting heart rate, HRV, and max heart rate at a glance • Readiness: today's HRV against your 7-day baseline — Recovered, Strained, or Building baseline • Fitness trend chart that shows your score moving week by week • HR Reserve, personalized heart-rate training zones, and a data-quality score HOW THE RACE WORKS No black box. BeatRace estimates your VO₂ max — a key indicator of cardio fitness — from your age, sex, BMI, resting heart rate, and activity level, using the published Jurca et al. non-exercise equation. If your device provides its own VO₂ max estimate, that takes priority. Your estimate is then mapped to an age- and sex-matched percentile from the FRIEND reference registry — so a 52-year-old walker and a 25-year-old cyclist are each ranked fairly among their own peers. AN HONEST RACE New racers start with a provisional estimate. Build about a week of resting heart rate data and a few days of HRV, record a workout that captures your max heart rate, and your score is marked Established — an exact percentile you actually earned. Scores move through confidence tiers (New, Building, Established, Verified) and advance at most once per day, so the leaderboard rewards consistency, not one lucky reading. The full methodology is explained inside the app. WORKS WITH YOUR GEAR BeatRace syncs from Apple Health and connects directly to Fitbit, Oura Ring, and Polar accounts. If your watch or ring writes to Apple Health, you're ready to race. YOUR DATA, YOUR RULES Public profiles are opt-in. Export your data anytime, manage your privacy consents in Settings, and delete your account whenever you choose. Available in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic. BeatRace is a fitness and motivation app, not a medical device. VO₂ max values are estimates, and nothing in the app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Your heart is already keeping score. Come see where it stands.
