Would love a metric setting option

I love the idea of the app for my kids (6 & 11), but I was a little disappointed to see I can’t opt for metric measurements in the questions.

As Australians, my kids have no concept (or real need) for imperial measurements, so it just adds a layer of confusion by requiring them (or me) to translate the units before they can solve the maths.

For example, today’s question compared a 12,388-foot spaghetti noodle with a 4-foot-wide, 1,110-pound meatball. The maths is great, but my kids were distracted trying to understand what those measurements actually meant.

It would be fantastic if there were a metric option. I think that would make the app much more accessible for families outside the US while keeping the activities just as engaging.

Ima kid and literally even some of the so called easy problems are hard like why I DO NOT recommend this

Best app ever for parents & children!

I’ve been using this app with my children since it was first released! Never disappointed in the content or the app quality. Thank you for giving us a fun bedtime activity we can do together, bedtime math!!!

easy going family time and math practice

We typically talk through a problem after breakfast. Love all the real world applications and fun facts on kid friendly topics.

Great concept & execution

Kiddo and I have used it for years. We love it

We miss the sound effects!

The old app was a little clunky but had fun bouncing symbols when you got questions right. This new app has a lot more functionality but we would love the fun appearing elements (always love the oinking pig!!). We’ve been using this app for probably 6+ years at this point! It’s nice and bite-size for before bed.

Edit: thank you for the response!! We're huge fans :-)

Response from developer

Thanks for your review and for being a longtime user of our app! We’re thrilled to hear that you’ve doing Bedtime Math all these years. We appreciate your feedback on the animations and while we can’t make any promises, we’ll definitely consider reintroducing them in future updates. Keep having fun with the numbers!

Great App

My son and I do bedtime math every night!

Best non-game app of my childhood

Five or so years ago my Dad would do one of these every night. I enjoyed them. Especially the β€œCraziest Basket Ball shot” and β€œEat Like An Animal.” I grew up on this app. Thank you

RUBBISH- Just crashes

Pretty poor that an app about maths can't even open! Something wrong with the programming?! Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

Errors = less excited about math

We homeschool our three children. At first, there was much to be excited about in bedtime math. The problems were broken down to different age levels and the interface appeared easy to use. We liked that it integrated math into other subject areas like geography and science. We started to set aside time to do it with our kids with the hopes that eventually they would pick it up to do some on their own. Unfortunately, we came across a few places where the language was difficult to understand. This made us all less excited to use the app as we spent more time trying to interpret what the questions were than actually doing math. One time, there was a question about stacking cars and elephants in β€œdifferent combinations” (I can’t remember if that was the precise language). I had to look ahead at the answer to figure out whether this was a problem about patterns or about how to add numbers of each item to get a specified total. Needless to say, my child got distracted and frustrated while I sorted it out. Another day, my daughter went to go use it on her own and then she started saying to me β€œI don’t understand this”. I thought maybe the math was too advanced for her and was ready to teach her something new but when I looked at the problem, I saw that the wording mixed up β€œvegetables” and carrots and different types of vegetables in the pictures. Again, I can’t recall exactly what the mistakes were in the language of the math problem, but it was enough that both my daughter and I just skipped it. We actually haven’t used the app since that time. It is very frustrating because these errors actually make the children (and parents) *less* excited about math, which I hardly think is the goal. And even though it was a monetarily β€œfree” app, we ended up wasting valuable learning time trying to figure out what the daily problems were asking. Our time would have been much, much better spent counting beans.

Almost perfect.

I love it! I just wish the text was easier to read-

Love it!

I don’t have littles anymore, but I highly recommend this free app to the parents of my students. I love the stories and math problems every night. Kids love it and it may help raise math test scores. Using this will help children build confidence in their mathematical abilities. It is also a great daily language booster. One of the best apps!

Cool

Fun to play

Everyday use.

Love this app!

I started using this app several years ago with my older son and now I’ve started it my six year old. He loves doing the problems and it helps him learn how to break word problems down which has been a struggle for him! Thanks so much!

Great daily math fun!

My boys have loved this since they were 5. Fun way to wind down from the day!
