This has been my favorite game and just ATEgot better. Last week I sent an email asking if the music could be lowered or off while I’m using Bluetooth to listen to my music in my home or car while playing. Not only did they get back to me right away but the app can be played while listening to your music over Bluetooth! Thanks Befuddled! You made my day!
UPDATED 6/16/26: While this game is still my GoTo, I have been noticing an annoying problem with the “3+” changing to a “1+” even though I used this tile every time, so then you don’t get the extra coins. The only way to get it working properly again is to back out and restart the game. Not a big deal if you already have a lot of coins, but if you’re nearing the last tiles and you only have 10 coins it will make Surrendering likely in a few moves. Please fix, thanks!

Entertaining and challenging
Good app, works well, not too complicated in the rules. Most word games are a bit ho-hum as far as I am concerned, but this one is better than most, worth the small purchase price.
One annoyance is that even turning the in app volume to lowest setting, it still makes sounds, unless I turn the volume on my iPad off. Would be great if that could be fixed.

Love it!
This is a treasure of a puzzle. I had it a few days before I nagged my house mate to try it. We are both hooked, as we enjoy relaxing with a word puzzle. Had some queries, emailed the developer amd received lovely helpful detailed reply. Others could learn from these guys.

Will soon upgrade this to the hd version. 👍🏻 Anyone keen on word puzzles, this will fill your needs. The developers are keen to keep the Megabytes low too so that’s an added plus. Won’t be charging ipad so often unlike some other apps ;) Cheers!

Not random
I’ve noticed that I’ve seen the same starting pattern of letters come up more than once. It’s not really random.

Not very well thought out. By level eight the game becomes unintelligible. Bookworm was a better game.

Can’t mute :(
I love the game, but it’s really annoying that there’s no way to completely mute the game. I’ve turned the volume to the lowest setting, but you can still hear the click-click-click of the tiles, unless I mute my phone. This makes it impossible to sneak play at work.
Otherwise, an excellent game. I’ve been looking for a replacement for AlphaBetty since they aren’t adding new levels anymore, and this works. Challenging, strategic, and I get to make words of my own choosing with as many letters as I can. Well worth the purchase price. It would be 5 stars if it allowed me to mute.

Befuddled Sound
I turn the sound off on all my games. For some reason Befuddled only lets you turn it down, but not off. It is quite annoying. There is no website for support.
Original Pop Cap Bookworm game
I can’t believe the original bookworm game is not available on my new, upgraded
iPhone!! I refused to buy an other brand of phone except an iPhone because I loved to play bookworm so much. Several of my grandchildren loved to sit down and play it with me or by themselves.
These new versions of bookworm are a poor comparison to the old version!! Please make the original version available again!!!

Original popcap bookworm word game
I put off updating my iPad because I was afraid my Bookworm game would not work anymore. But a well meaning relative updated my iPad to version 11.4.1. Sure enough, Bookworm no longer works in the new version. I downloaded this game a few years ago, and it is my favorite word game. Now I cannot play it at all! Please update this game. Many others have been requesting this too. Wow Word and Befuddled are very poor substitutes for the original game that I downloaded.

After updating iOS to 11.3 I now find that I am no longer able to mute the volume as I once could 🤔😔😩😤😬 don’t like that !!!

Fantastic game
This game has taken over my life and I lose hours playing. My only gripe, which I'm surprised no one has mentioned is how fast your coins go down. I've asked the developer to add the choice of being able to buy coins which I know will greatly improve the game as 6 coins to change one tile when often you need to change 3/4 to make the really decent words soon eats them up. I can't wait until I can do this so I don't have to constantly watch how many coins I've got left. I know I will lose many, many more hours playing this terrific game.

Addictive Fun
This is one of my go to games when I want to unwind.
Fun and challenging.
I can play this game for hours. It is not timed yet very challenging. I like word games that allow me to think and relax and not rush me to the next level. There is no other word game that can do this for me. Thank you.
Fun, but I miss Bookworm! 😒
Switched over to this game when I changed phones. I was looking for a replacement to the Bookworm app, which was my favorite game for my phone. I am enjoying this game. Just getting started so we'll see how much I like it in the next few months.
