Doesn’t work

Don’t waste your money. It does not work. Put phone directly over my heart and it couldn’t pick anything up. Requested a refund which they denied. Save your money.

Response from developer

Hi, we’re really sorry we let you down 🙇‍♀️ We want to clarify that all App Store refunds are handled directly by Apple. We cannot approve, deny, or stop a refund, although we genuinely wish we could help more with that process. You’re right that our Live Listen experience and guidance can be much better 🎧 Our next update fixes several bugs, improves volume and audio quality, and adds a new step-by-step tutorial ✨ We should have provided clearer guidance from the start. Testing your own heartbeat first was exactly the right approach ❤️ For better results, try a quiet room, remove your phone case, turn up the volume, and press the bottom microphone directly against your skin. Stay still and relaxed, as finding the right spot can take some time. Another tip for testing on your heart: try to put the mic under your chest, not above. We really hope you’ll give us another chance after the update 🙏 Thank you for your honest feedback! We read every message we receive, and it genuinely helps us make the app better 💛

Worse app ever

It doesn’t not work don’t waste your time with this app and be off you can even use it you have to pay for a subscription that I believe is so stupid.

Response from developer

Hi! We understand how frustrating it can be to download an app and find that a subscription is required. We’re a small team, and the subscription allows us to keep improving and supporting the app. Our goal is to provide an experience that feels genuinely worth the cost. If something didn’t work after subscribing, please contact us through support so we can help.

FAQ

How does Belly Beat work?

Belly Beat uses your iPhone's microphone and gentle audio enhancement to help you listen for subtle belly sounds. You connect headphones, place your iPhone gently against your bare belly, and explore slowly. Simple positioning tips and a live signal guide are provided.

Does Belly Beat require any special hardware?

No, Belly Beat is designed to work with your iPhone and connected headphones. It does not require a dedicated fetal Doppler or baby monitor hardware.

Can I record and save the sounds I hear?

Yes, you can capture audio clips directly within Belly Beat. These recordings can be replayed, organized by pregnancy week, and saved privately on your iPhone.

Is Belly Beat a medical device?

No, Belly Beat is a pregnancy bonding and keepsake app. It uses your iPhone's microphone to listen for belly sounds and is not a medical device. It does not measure or monitor fetal heart rate and should not replace regular prenatal care.

What are the subscription details for Belly Beat?

Some features in Belly Beat require an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation, and subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.

How private is my data with Belly Beat?

Belly Beat is private by design. No account is required, and live microphone audio is processed on your device. Saved recordings remain on your iPhone unless you choose to share them or explicitly enable diagnostic audio sharing, which is off by default.

What are the best tips for listening with Belly Beat?

For best results, find a very quiet room, connect AirPods or compatible headphones, remove your iPhone case, and place the bottom microphone gently against bare skin. Move slowly, try several positions, and keep headphone volume comfortable. Patience is key, as results vary and subtle sounds may be easier to hear later in pregnancy.

What devices does Belly Beat support?

Belly Beat currently supports iPhones. It was released on 2026-07-10 and its latest version is 1.0.3, last updated on 2026-08-06.
