About

Your lab buddy for the bench. Bench does the arithmetic you'd otherwise scribble on a glove box or a paper towel — molarity, dilutions, buffers, percentages, nucleic acids — and keeps the answer where you can find it again. SIX CALCULATORS • Molarity & Mass — how much powder to weigh out • Dilution — C₁V₁ = C₂V₂, how much stock to pipette • Unit Converter — concentration, mass, volume • Buffer Prep — a weighing worksheet you read top to bottom • Percent Solution — w/v, w/w, v/v • Nucleic Acid — ng ↔ pmol and concentration A KEYPAD THAT UNDERSTANDS UNITS Type 15 mL ÷ 3 and get 5.0 mL. Bench tracks the dimensions through the whole expression, so it knows a mass over an amount is a molar mass — and tells you when the units don't work out instead of quietly handing you a wrong number. Got a result you need in another tool? Send it straight there. A LOG THAT REMEMBERS Every solve is saved with its inputs, so you can reopen a calculation exactly as you left it — the one from Tuesday, with the numbers you actually used. Prefer to work without a trail? Turn it off in one tap. IT KNOWS A FEW THINGS ABOUT REAGENTS Buffer Prep carries the notes that matter while you're working: that Tris pKa shifts about −0.03 per °C, that EDTA won't dissolve below pH 8, that acid goes into water and never the reverse. YOURS, AND ONLY YOURS No account. No sign-up. No servers. Bench never asks for an email and has no way to send your work anywhere — every calculation, every log entry, every setting lives on your phone and nowhere else. It works the same on a plane, in a cold room, or on hospital Wi-Fi that blocks everything. MADE TO BE READ AT ARM'S LENGTH Big answers, generous touch targets for gloved hands, and six colour palettes in light and dark so it stays readable under whatever lighting your bench has. Bench is a calculation tool for laboratory work. It is not a medical device and is not intended for clinical or diagnostic use. Always verify critical calculations independently.
