add more payment options
berkeley bowl has gift cards and accepts EBT, and i should be able to pay the groceries with those and only pay a delivery fee. that’s how whole foods does it and i only downloaded this app because EBT wasn’t working with berkeley bowl and doordash
Like the idea except…
I like the idea of delivery and pick up Service. However, I live two blocks away from BerkeleyBowl South and sometimes have a great deal of difficulty walking due to my disability. Seems silly to deliver my groceries from Hines Avenue when I live two blocks away From the original Berkeley Bowl. Instead of ordering with delivery I ended up walking over and shopping myself and purchasing a lot less. I would rather not support putting more pollutants into the air so that someone could drive from Hines Avenue to where I live. The good thing for me is I’ll probably do a lot less impulse buying and limit what I’m purchasing because I cannot carry a lot of groceries home on my walker. I can always order from a store from the area where I live to purchase dry goods. It was disappointing as I just moved here and really needed to stock up.

no ebt option?
i love berkeley bowl and was excited to learn about this app, but the payment option limits are incredibly disappointing. the app’s interface is good and simple but i can’t use ebt to pay so it’s basically useless for me. plus, nowhere in the FAQs stated what kind of payments were accepted so i had to build my whole order just to learn that i couldn’t pay for it.
i’ll still be shopping at the bowl, but i’m frustrated that during this very busy weekend i’m basically shuttered from the option that would make my life easier. good thing i’m not physically disabled and actually can make it to the grocery store! but what about our disabled friends who rely on ebt to buy their groceries? do they *have* to shop at big box stores instead of supporting local businesses, just bc those stores have the infrastructure to accept their payment?
