Great game but
Love it just like all your other games but the only thing I hated is that you have to pay to play the rest of the game
Powers
Think this at least should be power of 4 set of power than three
Needs a sequel
Awesome game and so many choices needs a sequel
Good story but disappointing
When I first read the free portion of the story I was quite entranced by the masterful writing (which continued throughout the story) and the interesting story but after I had purchased the rest of the story and finished the story I just thought "Is that it?". It felt incomplete, like the story right before the ending was leading up to a second act that would answer all of my questions and leave me with a satisfying ending. After replaying I also realised that the entire story felt rushed.
So just to surmise, great story but it felt rushed and needed to be longer.

How did this get published?
With great power comes responsability!
Wonderful story and wonderful game. The author knows how to tell an exciting and engaging story. Extra points for inclusiveness and total voice over support!
A pale and unoriginal copy of more popular Hosted Games.
Its clear that The Best Of Us has ripped off the plotlines of at least one similar Hosted Games series - and if you've ever played HG stories before, you'll know exactly which one I mean. Unfortunately this one falls very far short of them.
In the beginning, there are hints of what could be some interesting story arcs peeking out between paragraphs - like the history of Pacifica or the backstory to the mysterious Icarus. But just as you start to get into gameplay, the next page seems to skip forward huge sections. This happens a few times in the game. If I was reading a book, I'd be convinced I'd missed several whole chapters.
There is no sense of the kind of person that your character is, and no stats for developing any type of relationship with other characters. The one hint at a possible liason with a male character (as straight female anyway) is rejected and not explored (or explained). The stats that exist barely move up or down with the choices made.
And there are few genuine choices to be made anyway. Most of them are conversational starters where you get to choose which one you say first.
A huge section of story is dedicated to outlining the many varied fighting techniques used on different continents for the main character to adopt one. This alone promised such a cool experience ahead, but actually amounted to a big fat zero. The fighting skills lovingly described are never used in the story and are therefore very unlikely to make the slightest difference to the outcome anyway.
Topped with the very abrupt ending, I get the distinct impression that the author quickly got bored with writing the game part way through, and was just racing to finish and publish the story.
Overall I'm pretty hacked off that I had to pay nearly £3 to complete a very pale imitation of a popular and much loved storyline from another Hosted Game.
Play the free sections but don't get fooled into buying the rest, believing there's a great epic to experience ahead of you! The results will be a huge disappointment.

Had potential
Failed miserably.
I'm getting tired of these games not having any choices.

I paid three dollars for this?
What a waste of time and money. Not even close to what I hoped for or what this book could have been. I should have known from the poor looking app image. Played this game several times just hoping for something good but it's just to narrative in style. I respect what the writer was going for and what this could have been. So I gave it two stars. This writer has a ways to goad does the game mechanics.

Downhill from here
They say certain things flow downhill. Rivers, balls, excrement, this story. Starts off well, lots of backstory and character building then it sort of gets thinner and thinner until you're left with nothing but the feeling this game was published by EA and pushed out the door far too soon. Worth the $3 but it could have been so much more.

A lot of potential wasted
I was really excited about this game since I read the open beta, with the in depth creation of your PC, I assumed that the story and characters would be just as complex and interesting. That was sadly not the case. The dialogue between characters is often just lengthy exposition, with little to no interaction between your character and others. And nothing really happens in the story, it's all just one group of people talking about what another group of people did, and that pushes you along to a final fight (which I couldn't care about because I felt there was no attachment between my character and the "conflict" of this story). I could go on and cite specific examples in great detail, but that would make this review no better than this story, where what little happens is only driven by whether you care about all the exposition building up to it or not.

Zero stars.
If you want to know how this game is, just look at the title card. Awful, crappy drawing that a four year old can make with his own feces. The game is the exact same as it was on the forums. It's full of grammar and spelling errors the plot line is boring with no character development and little meaningful dialogue, and no relationship building. On top of that your powers/costume barely is referenced throughout the story. Don't put your money into this half finished, childish doodles and buy something else. Honestly buy yourself a cookie and you'll get more enjoyment for a longer period of time then this "story." Good day.

here are my probs with this story
Ends too quickly, No romances, No replay value whatsoever,,, I'm actually kinda really disappointed bc this story had a lot of potential to be epic but whatevs I give it 3 stars >_>
Nothing special, but really?
I feel like the game ending is to fast. It gives you a choose what to do next then it ends, seems very abrupt. I feel most of the choices are there for character building but have little impact on the gameplay. For example you can pick your sexuality but there is little to no romance option. In fact I have yet to find anyone Romance able. You can also pick a fighting style and costume but that has no effect with anything anywhere in the game. I just feel like my money was cheated for this game.

Wow? Wow!
The "best of us" can easily be called one of the better stories to date. This story really made me, personally, feel like I really was a superhero. I can sense a lot of of influence taken from the DC universe and some from the marvel universe, which isn't a bad thing. Of course I did feel a lacking of sorts, such as the Many options of powers that we get to choose from, yet not all of my powers were used throughout the story, which sucked since I really wanted to use 'energy manipulation'. Our backstory is fuzzy as you only get a few pages outside of your superhero costume, and most of it is the story telling you how tired you are. I hope the author decides to make a sequel,
(Possible spoilers)
maybe to continue your journey with the same hero or another hero in this new academy of heroes , ran by your last used hero, it will be a buy for me for sure!
