User reviews

No focus peaking unfortunately

Looking for an alternative to Halide as it has a beautiful Chroma Noir film setting but it’s not configurable and not always suitable. Better camera has film grain simulation, but not as nice as Halide, but passable, but no focus peaking. I shoot a lot of manual so that’s not workable.

Response from developer

Thanks – fair feedback. Focus peaking is now in 1.20: it works in manual focus, and the highlight colour can be switched in Settings (yellow, red or white). Tap to focus works in manual too – tap to get close, fine-tune with the slider. Grain intensity is adjustable in Settings (1–4), so it's worth trying a few levels. Appreciate you giving it a real try.

Great Simple Camera App

Super simple and easy to use. Refreshing compared to many other and love that there is a lifetime purchase option. My only feature request would be to have this app as a camera button launch option.

Response from developer

Thank you – glad the simplicity and the lifetime option both hit the mark. You can already launch it from the Action Button: Settings > Action Button > Controls > Better Camera. It's also available as a Control Centre and lock screen control. Launching from the Camera Control button is noted. — David

I don’t use the default iPhone camera app anymore

Photos from this app look like they were taken with a professional camera, with a beautiful vintage film-like vibe. Easy to use and beautifully designed

Response from developer

Thank you, Alina – replacing the default camera is the best compliment it can get. Glad the film look and the design land for you. Happy shooting. — David
