I love this app! I'm technologically challenged and, so often, I buy an app that looks good and I get frustrated because I feel like I'm not using it properly or like I have to train myself on it. This app is really easy to use and I use it all the time. It's extremely user friendly and simplifies my life. I wish I'd gotten it sooner!

Move checked items to the bottom of list
I had the better list app on my blackberry bold. The app allowed a setting that could be turn that would move an item to the bottom of the list when checked. I really enjoyed this feature as the items that were not checked off moved to the top of the screen and the ones checked were moved to the bottom out of the way. I now have an iPhone 5. This feature does not appear to be an option. Although I love this app and will continue to use it I would like to see this option brought back. This is a great way to keep up with your lists and I enjoy using the app.

Great app
This is a great app. I have used it to create a list of all my books by author, title, date read. Only thing would make it better would be to add all data in list rows without having to save each row first.
Thought it was free
I saw this app on Freebies App on Memorial Day & it said that is was free if you purchased it on Memorial Day, so I purchased it, yet today I just got charged $2.99 + tax for it. I did use the app & did not like it I like me regular let better thought that their was too much much stuff to put in..for shopping list you have to keep adding the store name to each item if you want to separate the item by store

I'm really happy to see a backup feature on the new update! I'm curious though, I wonder if I can backup on my iPhone & restore to the iPad, in essence creating two identical lists...? Has anyone tried this?

The newest update- allowing the lists to show more than one field in list view is exactly what I need in two of my lists. I love that this app hasn't rested on it's laurels but continues to improve!
Being able to reorder the lists themselves & now the items within the lists has been worth its weight in the gold. I had no trouble checking off items in the lists, but the box showing precisely where to touch will be helpful to many because, admittedly it did take me a few minutes to figure out where to touch. :)
The developer is very open to suggestions to make future updates even more helpful to users which makes this app constantly improving. I find myself using it more & more frequently & migrating more & more of my lists to BetterLists.

Amazingly versatile, elegant, easy to use
BetterLists is my used app. it is awesomely versatile and creatively adaptable to my needs and imagination. I have and use a "to do" list, a grocery list - arranged by aisle in different grocery stores and so I check off what i need and uncheck items as I put them in my wagon, a birthday list so i remember everyone's birthday, a health check list, an an invoicing to do list - and on and on. Because each list is customizable I use BetterLists any way I want and whenever I can. It has the flexibility, resilience, and user friendly interface so many other apps miss. Bravo to the programmer. Let's have more apps from you!

BetterLists 1.3.3-- iPad version
The iPad version of Better Lists appears to be identical to the iPhone version. From a visual perspective, it is scaled perfectly. It is so easy to create, edit and manage lists. I can see that the larger scale will be very useful for such tasks as business inventory or record keeping especially from a data entry perspective.

Finally....a better list!
Clean, direct, to the point, with just enough extras. Love the fact that you can edit what you don't need. Perfect for getting your lists at a glance. I also like the icon , in a sea of checkmark icons this one is cool...

Middle of the road
Very ordinary list maker, nowhere near as configurable or powerful as ListMonger or my all-time favorite, List Master. Not that it's bad, but there are several much better options.

Brilliant! Exactly what I was looking for. I've created perfect databases for my Reading journal, gift lists, meal planner... Loads. I love it. Thank you!
VERY GOOD - NEEDS MINOR TUNE-UP
The good stuff is ... it does a lot and it does it very easily, the editing functions are simple to use and allow a lot of flexibility, somewhat more user oriented than some others I have used. There are other lists for a good price if you need a lot of bells and whistles to go with your lists, which I don't. I have 4 complaints, (1) there is one too many steps to enter an item in a list, that is ... after you enter the name of an item on a list, you must press the SAVE option twice (once should be enough), (2) there is no landscape mode, (3) The keyboard doesn't default to "first capitals letter on" as it is standard in most all iPhone applications, so if you want to capitalize the first letter, you need one more key press and (4) there is no security if you want to make a list of your passwords or credit cards info., etc. - I would give it five stars if these things were available or corrected.

Awesomely Simple App
As a somewhat amotivational person, I use betterlists daily. The developer has continued to improve and add features, which I appreciate greatly.
The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the ability to possibly use landscape view to see all fields.

Pretty Good
This is one of the better list apps that I tried. The only suggestion I have is to have the ability to delete individual items on a certain list instead of having to delete the whole thing. Other than that it's great.
Difficult to use
I was trying to make my lists in outline form -- categories then tasks within. Couldn't figure it out. Too bad, too.Other folks seem to really like it.

Update: I cannot increase my rating, since I have already given it five stars. The developer has responded to all my requests and implicit wishes: there is now a clear check box in front of an item (so a person knows where to touch to "check-off" an item). (You may have to turn on the setting in prefs.)
Most importantly, the developer has made the ordering of both the top list, and all items on a list, to be customizable. So you can determine which items on a long list are more important. (Simply click the "Edit" button, and move the "stripe" icon on the right-hand side.)
If you are looking for a good general, yet customizable, List app, I strongly urge you to take a careful look at BetterLists.

The key ability of this app is the ability to customize the fields of any given list. Say, e.g., on a grocery list, you can have a field for size of the item and quantity. A contact list can have a field for phone number, etc.
One field you can add a field for longer notes.

Best list keeper out there
This program is just great.
I am using it now for a couple of weeks and it does everything i ever wanted. It keeps my todo lists. it keeps my info i want to store it just makes my life a lot easier now i have the perfect list on my iphone.
One things bugs me and that is why it didn't get the last star. You need to hit save to save your input and i forget that once in a while and then everything i just typed is gone.
Also you can delete you lists easy if you don't pay attention. it would be nice if it would ask if you are sure.
Go test this program i am sure you will be and for this price you can't go wrong.

I ended up with this program after trying many others. The ability to check OR delete items makes it the best. When I had trouble checking items the service I got was above and beyond! Great app great company! Only request would be the ability to drag items up and down list.

I read the other reviews and downloaded this. I can't believe we are reviewing the same app. It takes far too many clicks to add an item, additional fields that are added (like 'quantity' for a shopping list) do not show up in the list view. So you have to open each item in the list to see if any other information is there, making fields nearly useless. When I clicked on options from the 'add item' view the app crashed. I can't imagine taking the time to create a list in this program over jotting it down in notepad. It would be great to be able to check things off but it's not worth the effort.
