Beyond the Barbed Wire

Through the transformative power of storytelling, Beyond the Barbed Wire aims to share the full and complex story of Japanese American belonging and identity before, during, and after WWII by making monuments of key historical events and places. Beyond the Barbed Wire compels us to face — and learn from — the difficult truths of our past.
