Please look elsewhere if you’re looking to understand the Bible

Curious about AI and how it might be used as a tool for searching the scriptures, I came upon this app and its associated website.

One of the main features of BiblePics AI Chat is a feature where you can “talk” to characters in the Bible. I actually thought this was a novel idea and, with an open mind I tried it. The character of Eve was decently executed and the chat bot even gave scripture references with some answers. Asking about her family and the answers, though factually correct, embellished details not found in scripture.

But the Bible is centered around Jesus. The question of Jesus must be answered and so too this app must answer the question of Jesus.

I set aside some unease at the thought of interacting with something pretending to be Jesus. After all, actors portray Jesus often on stage and screen in an attempt to tell His story.

The Jesus chat bot introduces itself as the Son of God. But ask it how to get to heaven and it will tell you to be kind and love others. Ask if it (in the character of Jesus) is God and the bot side steps.

Making the Bible fun or engaging is commendable if the message of the Bible remains intact and the source material is treated with reverence. This is not that. This is a money grab trading on the name of Jesus for profit. Please, look elsewhere for biblical references.
