Forced to sign up

Any app that won’t even let you into the software to look around before forcing you to sign up for a paid service that makes it awkward and not clear how to cancel is an automatic zero star app. Especially since it doesn’t even have the translations and features I was looking for. How about you at least let people into the app before splashing your buy screen that you can not bypass.

DO NOT GET THIS APP Locks you MacBook if you do not purchase

I highly do not recommend getting this app. It forces you to purchase the 7 day trial with hopes that you forget the 7 days and starts charging you. I would have taken a closer interest of this app but the fact it forces you to get the 7 day trial has already turned me away from it. To the people selling this and the programmers, SHAME ON YOU for doing such a tactic. There a plenty of other bible apps out there that will not pull such a deception on you.

App locks down Mac

I installed the app on my MacBook Pro, I couldn’t get out of it, couldn’t close the app, couldn’t even browse through the app without purchasing something. You have to decide ahead of time (before you open it) if you want to purchase anything, otherwise once you open it you can not close it you can not restart your computer, you cannot force close the app. You have to purchase it in order to even use it or view anything. On that principle of it being gate kept (unless its a flaw in the newest version of the software) I would not support this.

Loving the word of God

I use this app in my ladies Bible Class and it helps me find the chapters and verses quickly and accurately. Nice size print I can read without my glasses.

Amazing experience

The best Bible app on the App Store with with study notes, (optional) AI guidance, bookmarks, and especially useful to sync with my phone and apple watch.

trap

This app is a trap. Stay away

Response from developer

We're sorry the offer screen felt like a trap — that's on us, and we've reworked it. To be clear: you never need to enter payment details to close the screen or delete the app, and the trial can be cancelled any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions with no charge. Premium is how a small independent team funds the licensed NIV text, but reading, search, notes, and the daily verse are free. If you were charged unexpectedly, email info@accessibleresources.com with "Refund" in the subject and we'll personally make sure it's put right

Brilliant

The best Bible experience, easy to read

Says in app purchases but I can’t use without paying?

It looks like a good bible but I need to pay to use it?? But it shows as free on the App Store.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback - this was a fair point. The latest update adds a close button to the paywall, so you can dismiss it and continue using the app. The subscription helps cover the licensing fees we pay to Biblica for the translation, but it's no longer a blocker to getting in and reading. Appreciate you flagging it!

Seems dodgy

I use the free Bible app on my phone. I decided to see if it was also available for my Mac book. I found this app - it looked the same. In the info there is no mention of a cost and so I downloaded it. It went straight to a page offering me 7 days free trial and then £24.99 per year. There was nothing I could click except the accept the free trial button. I couldn’t close the app as the red button wasn’t there. I tried quitting and nothing happened. The various links at the bottom of the page went to a 404 page. I manage to delete it by going back to the App Store.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD

This app seems harmless enough at first glance, but once you download and install it you are directed to a “free trial” page you can not get out of. I had to force quit, and then manually drag it to the trash to not sign up for their $24.95 per year plan. There are plenty of great resources available that do not manipulate and force you into an automatic billing cycle app.

Not such a wide range.

A bit of false advertising. It says it has a “wide range of translations when it only comes down to 2.” Not what I was looking for. A bit disappointing. Other than that, seemed like a solid app.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. We've now updated the app to include 5 different English language versions (NIV, KJV, ASV, BBE, YLT) and 10 additional non-English language versions. If there is a specific version you're looking for, please drop us a note at info@accessibleresources.com

Horrible

Forced to put credit card info in just to delete app even though I’m a poor college student

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback, note that it is not necessary to put a credit card in to delete the app, the app can be deleted at any time through macOS. If you'd like guidance on this, please get in touch at info@accessibleresources.com

This is stupid! Going back to YouVersion.

... Not that I ever left or deleted that app, but did give this one a try based on a mention on AppleVis. But the verse of the day hasn't changed in four weeks, and before that it didn't change for six. I see no sense in having other voices read this thing when VoiceOver reads everything anyway, and there are only two English versions. In YouVersion, I have a comparison list of at least seven different versions. Not impressed and not happy.

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We have addressed the issue regarding the "stuck" Verse of the Day. This was a technical bug that has now been resolved; you should see the verse updating daily as intended. Regarding your other points: Audio Options: We provide custom voices as an alternative for those who prefer specific narrations, but we completely understand that VoiceOver users may find the native system voice more efficient. Bible Versions: We hear you on the variety. While we currently offer fewer versions than larger apps like YouVersion, we are actively working on expanding our library to offer better comparison tools in future updates. We hope you'll give the app another look now that the daily verse is functioning correctly. If you have any other suggestions, please let us know.
