Been using for about year . Read daily verse then start reading what i wanted to , lately read daily verse can’t go back to were I was app takes me were it want to,not happy. Can deal with add not dealing with when I look something up and it goes were it wants .
Advertisements.
I’ve had this app for several years. I like it because it’s easy to find the verse I’m looking for. But I find it hard to navigate past the advertisements. User error I’m sure.
Hard to get in
For some time when I open this app, an ad for some game appears. Tonight I could not make it go away so never got into the app. So frustrating! I like to listen all night to scripture, but tonight that couldn’t happen.

Please change the app back. Sometimes simple is better and in this case it is !! The audio doesn’t work the same any more and the search is weird. If you change the version to AMP , you can’t listen to the audio Bible at the same time . When you scroll to a new chapter , the audio turns off . I hate the update and according to the comments a lot of other users do as well. Please change it Back !!!!!!!!!! Get your money back from who ever did the new design for you all. Could you fix the app to where you can literally scroll other verses in different books and chapters and the audio not go to different books and chapters. You literally can’t study other chapters and listen at the same time because whatever yall did to the audio messed it up

Frustrating
This app frustrates me over and over again. I will be working through the resources on a verse and the app suddenly changes to a different book, chapter and verse; what I am researching stays in place but when I return to the Bible it has changed to a different book and verse.
The audio feature is another frustration as it will change from where I left off and even show the place I stopped previously and take me to a completely different book and chapter.
When paying for a subscription I would expect better. In the past when I have submitted my concerns the team has been responsive but fixes not quick or workable. The resources are great on the plus side of things.

Disappointed in the new app
This app used to function well. The new design is not user friendly. I’m not able to get information from the commentaries even though I have ‘plus’. The layout is cumbersome.
Never ending ads
So irritating to not be able to by-pass ads that go on forever then selectively turns on your App Store.
Not okay for navigation, cant dismiss the ads. resources not Biblical. Deleted to use another.

I loved the Bible gateway app, and I love the site, but today, July 20th, 2026, they started with pop up ads that lick the screen like I’m playing a free version of solitaire.
I deleted the app immediately. I’ll use the online version and avoid the app. And if and when the online web version gets infested with advertisements, I’ll dump that too.

Frustrating ads
Love the features—when I can finally get to them! Of all the apps I use with ads, these are the worst to get past. They go on for a long time before the option to close them comes up. And sometimes it never does, forcing engagement with the advertisement to finally get to the Bible. This makes using the app in church or at a study almost impossible. I end up just googling the scriptures on the web. Used to use this app all the time, now I hardly use it anymore.

Need an ad free version
I got tired of opening it in church and getting a stupid ad. I wanted a paid version that’s ad free but I can’t find one. Bible Gateway is a great product but swimming through the traps upon opening drove me away. I purchased a Study Bible app, no ads and a better search engine. Too bad.
Loading issues
Going into the Bible option then closes the app and needs to be reloaded up again 😒

Not what it used to be
Don’t know what happy to this app, but it’s impossible to listen to. It won’t hold where you stopped so you can go forward the next time you open it like it used to. Sometimes it just stops after one chapter. Sometimes the voice changes. Not useful to me anymore.

I used to really appreciate Bible gateway! I will never ever use them again because their ads are ridiculous unless you want to pay!

Gone down hill
There all of a sudden glitches and so many ads I can’t figure out how to navigate away from. Bye bye.
This used to a great app
I’ve used this app for a long time sadly, since it became an ad based app, this app is completely gone downhill from where it once was.
I’m not using this app anymore. There’s other apps that are out there that don’t have ads that have better interface usefulness. This particular app is no longer relevant.
I still use Bible gateway when I need to look stuff up on the Internet, but as far as mobile app, this is not the app anymore Which is a sad thing because I really loved the app. They’ve completely butchered this thing.
