Ads impede use
This used to be a good app. But over the past years, so the ads have become so pervasive that it’s almost impossible to use. At least 50% of the time you click on anything to try to get a passage, you get a very long ad. So it’s virtually unusable. If the mission is to get the word of God out, something needs to change. It’s truly unusable as is. I will be looking for another app.

I used to love this app! It WAS brilliant. Now though it seems to drift you off or lead you into making the ‘creator’ of the app money! “7 day trial”!

What have you done to this app?
This used to be the best Bible app anywhere. So many translations available. Easy to use. But I just spent 5 minutes trying to get the app to show me the book of James. It won’t do it. It will show me ads. It will not show me the Bible.
Complete garbage app
I’ve had this app for years, and it never used to have ads but now I can’t even get past the ads to actually read the Bible. Just deleted this one and downloaded a free ad-free Bible app.
Too many ads
The app content is great but the functionality is frustrating. It's difficult to close ads or they take too long. It feels manipulative.
Unusable—cluttered with ads
This app used to be halfway decent, but it is now so cluttered with ads that it’s completely unusable.
The last straw for me is that somehow the default translation when I try to look anything up is in Italian. I didn’t select that. I’m sure I could change it back but why bother. Anything would be better than this.

Unable to scroll past first few verses when using Resources
I have Bible Gateway Plus on my PC and love having access to various Bible translations, Commentaries and Dictionaries. So, it was a no-brainer to add the app to my iPhone 17. However, when I try to use the Study Bible resources (in particular NRSV Cultural Backgrounds and NKJV Chronological Study) on my iPhone, I am unable to scroll past the first few verses to get deeper into the chapter. Very frustrating. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.

App is broken, doesn’t go to search result when clicked
It literally chooses somewhere else and drops you off when selecting a verse from search. The only thing this app had going for it was its robust searching options at one point. Now it can’t even do that, but it CAN give you ads and personal data tracking for your troubles.

Search is useless now
I used to use the search feature on the app for keywords and now it doesn’t even work properly anymore it pulls up the verses but then when you select the verse it either takes you to a completely different part of the Bible or back to the Home Screen like it crashes out of search. A huge disappointment

Ads on a bible app is actually insane find anouther there’s a better one I promise. This garbage has a subscription?!?! This app deserves the hate.
Love the content when I can get it
I have years of experience with the app. The plus is nice if you can reach it. The old one was easier. Signing in and buying plus is harder now and no longer can I access what I bought. I tried reaching support. They failed to remedy my problem so I'm reverting to the free version. I believe there's a communication problem.

Since update, I am now unable to read all of a free resource offered. I can’t scroll through a list of scriptural references. Using iPhone

I paid for the plus, used my Apple account to set everything up and now it won’t let me log in. I loved this app but now I can’t get it to work

The highlighter feature is great but sometimes when you highlight a verse it will unhighlight. Other than that the app is great!
Erased notes after update
This app really makes it easy to read & understand the bible, but when I updated it, it erased every single one of my notes for every book, which I had taken a lot of time to do. I’m so upset

I hate that you don’t have a way we can look up books or chapters and better to go to where we want to go. It’s inaccessible. I’m totally blind. I can’t use this app. I really hate this! Can you please fix this! Thanks!
So Frustrating!
I can’t get into the app because of gatekeeper game ads! There is usually no X to click so I can move on. I like to listen to scriptures as I go to sleep, but I try multiple times to enter and usually just give up. Why is there such a block to be able to get to scriptures?

Bible Gateway has everything you need to read God’s word. It’s a great app!
