A Rare Gem of an App
I never leave reviews for any app but I feel I should for this app, in case there are others who are confused and searching like me.
I grew up Buddhist and went to Christian missionary schools so I knew my Bible stories and verses. I was very familiar with the Bible as a storybook of famous characters, powerful events and amazing miracles.. not as God’s words to me. God was all perfect with such high unattainable standards… I was afraid of God… and of hell.
I arrived in the U.S. for college and it was then that I came to faith through an adopted church mom who patiently taught me the Bible and the Scriptures. I did what I was told to do… and I was saved.
After college, I moved away and real life pressures (work, success, survival) slowly eroded my spirituality into a desert… I became desperate for an anchor, a reason not to give up on life… I welcomed and sought any wisdom anyone would share with me… I attended different religious gatherings, read different holy books (as confusing as they were) and even spent some time in a convent visiting my aunt who was a Catholic nun. I was honestly searching for truth and meaning because what I had no longer held me.
Christianity, more than many other faiths, has countless authors and books written about it. I often couldn’t afford to read what I wanted simply because I couldn’t keep purchasing books. When I first came across Zac Poonen’s teaching it was because I was looking for a book on a particular subject… his was the only one that was free and illuminating in ways I had never even thought before. It made so much sense! Why never anyone put it that way before..
The Basic Christian Teachings along with his Verse by Verse and Book by Book lessons help me understand Christ and the Bible clearly. I do not want added interpretations. I just want the Bible explained plainly, sentence by sentence, to my level… the way someone would explain The Canterbury Tales if you were reading it in the original version and did not understand Chaucer’s medieval English.
Zac Poonen just clarifies. He does not add or subtract. He consistently uses Scripture to explain Scripture. That is how the Bible slowly became clear to me, one verse at a time… uncluttered by confusing extra pieces.
His app, website, books, sermons and YouTube teachings are all available for free with no personal data collected, no ads and no strings attached. Zac Poonen is over 85 years young and still teaching! I am beyond grateful… He is a man who truly only wants to make the Gospel (the good news) accessible to everyone.
This app helped guide me when I was confused and searching and continues to help me move forward. Thank you so much for your faithful heart and tireless hard work Pastor Zac…

What a blessing!
Doing brother Poonen’s “through the Bible” series as I go on walks every morning has been an incredible blessing.
Please in German !!!
A very good app. It would be even better if you made it available in German.
Very helpful
This is like a food for life - true bible interpretation
Great app
But there is a small issue in transcript
for example:
In Q&A ‘Question on the second coming of the Lord Jesus’
At time 4:52 —> Euphrates, and it was dried up to be prepared for the Kings from the east, again for bathroom.
But it is suppose to be
Euphrates, and it was dried up to be prepared for the Kings from the east, again for battle.
