It’s great but some improvements

I am amazed of the word features that this app displays. The only problem that I have is that when you look up words in the verse in the original language, sometimes it gives you the wrong words and definition. For example Psalm 37:25 cast down in the original Hebrew is tul but Bible word study pulls up Naphal. This review is coming from someone is a student of Biblical Languages….This is not the only verse that I had a problem with. There were other verses that had issues like Psalm 37:25….If you can look back at the original text and fix these minor errors, this app will turn out to be one of the most valuable Bible study tools for Pastors and students in Seminary….Otherwise this app works great for me. BIG COMPLAINT….I should not have daily limits for studying Gods word

A person who need help reading the Bible more

Guys!! I usually don’t wanna pay for apps. Seriously! But this app has features that every Bible app should have! I can highlight a verse or few and it gives background contexts and explanations. This app is a Godsend! I do not have buyers remorse. Everytime I put this app into use it does what I need it to do.

Now the only way they can make this app better is to an AI reader or listen to the Bible feature this app would be perfect. Other than that there are no regrets after getting this app!! I love it.

Awesome app but add the ESV

I’m giving this app 5 stars because it truly is incredible. It provides very deep and contextually accurate answers, and yet it’s simple enough for a laymen to understand. My only qualm is that the ESV is not one of the translations offered. Please add the ESV!

Knowledge at your fingertips

When I first downloaded this app, I had my doubts, or maybe my own perceived idea of what the app would be like but when I got in it man, the knowledge at your fingertips is endless. They give you a free trial for seven days and then after that $6.99 for a month which is not bad. Don’t think about a price for knowledge think about what you have in your hand and how you can use it for the next generation.

Uses money to support a questionable group of people

Hi, I really liked the concept of your app and was excited about the word-by-word Bible study feature. I checked your donation information and saw that you support organizations like Turning Point USA Faith, which have a track record of using Scripture to harm and exclude people. Because of that, I don’t feel comfortable continuing to use or recommend your app, and I hope you’ll reconsider who you choose to partner with and support.

Disappointed, but not surprised.

I really wanted to like this, but I really dislike how locked up the app feels. I understand it takes money to run these apps, but it’s hard to commit to a subscription when I only have 7 days to experience it before I have to make a decision. I was also heavily turned off when I saw what organizations this app donates to, particularly Turning Point USA. I cannot in my right mind use an app that supports such harmful ideologies that Jesus would never approve of. Quite disappointed.

Incredible | Premium User

This app has made me fall in love with the Bible all over again. I love the breakdown of the words into its original meaning. 10/10 I definitely recommend.

Paying to learn more about God’s Word?

I love the concept, I understand you want to get paid as the developer, but I can do almost everything advertised and more on Blue Letter Bible and Bible Hub. I actually can do more on both apps, the only thing I can’t do is write a sermon and that should be learned in seminary. Great idea, but whenever someone charges to use a Bible app it’s not a great feeling I get. God’s Word should be used and spread around the world. Honestly a lot of people can only use their phone to read the Bible in their language, for them to learn more about the Bible’s original context and intent would help them tremendously! But they also probably don’t have the money to pay. I couldn’t even get into the app without it wanting me to sign up for a 7 day free trial or pay monthly. I was able to do one thing total on the app before it popped back up. What I was able to do I can do for free on Bible Hub and Blue Letter Bible.

Beautiful app

Please download this app. This is such a beautiful app. I love how you can such the deeper meanings of the word of Christ and find context of the Scripture.

Great app, I have a question

I downloaded the app on my phone and I really like it. I wanted to use it on my iPad also but it doesn’t lead me to a login. It wants me to pay for a subscription again. Is there a way around this? I will update from four stars to five if I can use it from two devices.

Response from developer

Hi! Thank you so much for your review. To avoid being charged multiple times, go to the Settings button on the menu page, click Sync Across Devices, and sign in there! Thank you so much!

More than I expected

I was initially not very enthusiastic about this app. After all, many Bible apps today have interlinear capabilities, which are very helpful in understanding the meaning behind the writer’s words and God’s words. However, this app not only goes deeper than an interlinear but also allows you to search using Strongs numbers if you have that or the direct Greek or Hebrew word from an interlinear.

Love!

I have just started my 7 day trial and I am absolutely blown away! I personally feel you cannot study Gods word and get a clear understanding without researching the original languages. I am very happy that Jesus original language. Aramaic is included.

I do have a question. I not able to see how to save words or scripture. Please give instructions. Thank You❣️

Thank you so much!! ❤️ Your saved words, studies, scriptures, etc. is at the bottom of the search page!! :)

Rock Solid‼️

Build your Bible word study on a rock foundation as found in this app, super clean UI, discover the deep but subtle CIA (Context, Interpretation, Application) structure, and more. You will 🤍 the big feature enhancements in the recent update… Version 2.1.9. Well done! It’s well worth the yearly subscription cost for anyone who values their biblical and extra-biblical content consumption.

I use it everyday

If I could give this app 10 stars, I would. I’ve been a Bible Geek for YEARS and this app elevates my studies to the NEXT LEVEL. Stop reading reviews and just try this app out. I promise you WILL NOT regret it! God Bless!

Would Consider Giving a Higher Rating If These Things Were Updated

I was super excited about this app because I love learning about the meaning of words but I have some feed back.

1. This is the biggest. I was ready to give the app a go and pay for a monthly subscription but I spent quite a while trying to find my account page so I can upgrade. Which means the functionality to cancel is also hidden. Huge red flag and this is what lost me. I don’t do business like that. I want the liberty to freely cancel if needed. Not go through a work around.

2. Instead of the entire verse highlighting when I click, I would like the ability to click on a single word to look up the meaning.

3. Love the AI feature but this could be improved if there was an ability to respond back and forth with follow up questions if need be.

Overall the app was really solid. I loved the UI. Easy to use. But again, you guys lost me at the inability to cancel.

Hey, thank you so much for taking the time to write this out, this kind of feedback genuinely helps us make the app better. On the subscription piece, totally understand the frustration, and I want to clear something up. Apple actually manages all subscriptions for every app on the App Store, not us. To cancel, you would go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions and you'll find it right there. We have zero ability to hide that from you, nor would we want to ever hide it from you, it's just how Apple works for every app on the App Store. The word-by-word tap feature is something we're actively working on adding. Can't wait for you to try it when it's live! And thank you for the AI follow-up idea, that's a great thought! Seriously glad you loved the UI and found it easy to use. Hope to have you back!

AI-based. Run.

This app is extremely disingenuous and honestly dangerous. Only in very few-and-far-between places is AI mentioned, but I highly suspect the entire app and its content was and is being generated by AI. I use AI quite a bit in my personal life so this is not purely about AI’s use, but relying on it especially in faith-related spaces is wildly irresponsible, especially when there are no reminders like “hey, we used AI to generate this, double check it for errors!” Or “hey, maybe go talk to a real person about this!” Run.

Copy and Paste

I am very much enjoying my first week with this app. One of the best I have used so far. A couple of issues I’d like to mention.

Deep Dive and Explain - It would be nice if Copy and Past would could be enabled to save passages and explanations to my Notes page.

Background image - The background image of the crown of thorns. I can see this making reading difficult for someone with a visual disability.

Otherwise bravo!

Hey, thank you so much! So glad you're loving it in your first week! Both of those are great callouts! Copy and paste for the Deep Dive and Explain sections is something we'll look at adding, and the accessibility note on the background image is something we just added in a recent update to have the ability to remove the background! We appreciate you thinking about others in that way. Thanks again for the kind words and for taking the time to share this. More great things coming!

Very insightful

I’ve been a pastor for 30 years — often it is refreshing to get a new perspective or insight. I find myself using this app more and more

Hebrew and Arabic text as well

I love having the Greek but I would also love to have the Arabic and Hebrew

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the kind review! Also, Bible Word Study includes Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, so you've got the full original languages right at your fingertips. We appreciate you!

Charging people for the word..

Of course I open the app and they want $50.. I’m not saying it’s not worth that, but come on make this more affordable and let God bless you. Don’t rob yourself of blessings. $50….. silly this isn’t ground breaking tech it’s a better mouse trap. Let’s get real here with the price and the meaning of the app, is it for money and a deeper relationship with God,
Or is it a for a deeper relationship with God and a little money for improvement?
