About

BID Artifacts is a surgical-education app for medical residents and fellows. It implements the BID model (Briefing -> Intraoperative Teaching -> Debriefing), calibrated to your autonomy level using the Zwisch scale, so the case adapts whether you are a first-year resident (R1) or a fellow approaching independence. WHO IT IS FOR - Surgical residents (R1, R2, R3, R4) and clinical fellows - Plastic, reconstructive and general surgery programs - Faculty and program directors who want a structured, evidence-based teaching loop - Medical students rotating on surgical services WHAT YOU CAN DO CoCreator — Generate BID artifacts from a PDF Upload a surgical article in PDF format and the app builds a complete BID artifact: briefing questions, intraoperative steps, and debriefing prompts. Powered by Anthropic's Claude AI for content generation; the source PDF is processed on-device and through our secure backend. Pre-built artifact: Tongue Reconstruction Start immediately with a fully curated case on tongue reconstruction so you can experience the BID loop end to end before generating your own. Briefing phase Anchor your baseline with structured pre-operative questions tailored to your training year. The AI tutor reviews your answers and gives targeted, level-appropriate feedback. Intraoperative phase Walk through the operative steps with decision points. Optional voice mode lets you rehearse hands-free. Debriefing phase (4R model) A guided chat takes you through Recognize -> Reflect -> Reframe -> Reinforce, with the Claude AI tutor adapting prompts to your Zwisch level. Survey and PDF export End each session with a short usability survey, then export a full PDF report of your decisions, scores, and tutor feedback for your portfolio or program director. KEY FEATURES - Bilingual interface: English and Spanish - Secure sign-in with email + password - Cloud-synced sessions and history - Exportable PDF session reports - Voice mode for hands-free intraoperative review - Practice weak questions surfaced from your history - No advertising, no third-party tracking TECHNOLOGY - Native SwiftUI app for iOS 17+ - AI tutor and content generation powered by Anthropic's Claude - PDF parsing for CoCreator article ingestion - Cloudflare Worker + Supabase backend over HTTPS IMPORTANT — EDUCATIONAL USE ONLY BID Artifacts is an educational training tool. It is NOT a medical device. It does NOT provide diagnosis, treatment, or clinical recommendations for real patients. AI-generated content can be incomplete or wrong and must not be used to make decisions about actual patient care. Always rely on your attending, your institution's protocols, and current clinical guidelines. PRIVACY Your sessions are private.
