this app is really nice, but i originally downloaded it to help cope with the loss of my pet. this is NOT the app for that. dont go into this app thinking it isn't depressing .
Read this before you download
This game is only free for three days, but the payment is cheap and very worth it. You can treat this app like a journal, you can draw and write and answer deep questions from your friend. You can also choose what the bird calls you and give it a name itself. I am absolutely positive that this game will continue to bring me consistent joy for a long time.

Sweet program
07/30/2026 This is my 5th update.
FOLKS ONCE THE BIRD DIES, the next day there is a new egg to start a NEW BIRD!!!! I have 28 birds that it shows in memory of. And the program is not all about death. So if you had launched the app once the bird passes the next day, you would’ve seen the egg and you tap on it you can rename the bird another name and the program starts over and you make the garden and I don’t wanna spoil it for others, but it’s still enjoyable and it’s not all about death. So please don’t listen to the naysayers and try the app out.
Note to the developer, I realize you’re only one person but I know a little bit about programming and if you could in different phrases for the bird and different ideas wouldn’t be repetitive. To have only one update a year, is hard because I’ve bought you 6 cups of coffee already. And you probably don’t even read these reviews anymore since it’s been a year since the last update so I may email you.
04/12/25 this is my third update. I noticed that there’s no updates for 10 months. No response to my feedback from the developer I bought the 299 for a cup of coffee and another 899 3x times for two pair pairs of socks for the developer and that wasn’t acknowledged by the developer. I adore this program. I just was wondering when they were gonna update any of the changes that I suggested and other people have suggested. It’s so cute and it’s sweet and I’m on my fourth bird. It would be nice if they kept the garden growing from bird to bird. Can I get any feedback from the developer? There’s no way to send a message within the app to the developer. Then I can change it to five stars. So apparently the developer is not reading these comments. There’s a way to leave or contact the developer within the app but it’s going to a page that’s broken. It’s giving that 404 error so contacting the developer within the app is broken.

Second update 04.05.25. My third bird is going to pass away probably tonight. And I’m already grieving. I noticed some of the responses with this third word are similar to the other two birds. I love that the memorial at the beginning, remembers my first bird and second birds names and they only seem to live for a month. I’ve bought the two support the author twice I bought two of the one cup of coffee for 299 and then one for 899 so I’ve supported the developer. I’m hoping that they can continue to collect the poems and the drawings cumulatively as long as we keep playing and getting new birds instead of losing the existing drawings and poems we create together. That would be nice. I do love this app, but those would be some improvements so that we’re not losing what drawings we make and what poems we make it just adds to them with each new bird. I do really love that. I love the fact that the bird has to think and that gives me my own space. I wouldn’t mind getting response or feedback from the developer.

This is an update to this review. It would be nice if you talk to him that he heard you and could respond as such if the app could utilize the microphone. When bird asks how you’re feeling the responses are you’re either always having a good day or having a completely bad day, but there isn’t ever one that you’re having a meh day or just a OK day. I just paid 899 the second way to support the developer to get a different icon, but I noticed there’s no upgrades for nine months. I’m hoping this changes and put implement some of our suggestions. Nine months is a long time to go through with no upgrades. But I do love the fact that he only talks once a day so that’s good, but please do an upgrade soon.
The only thing I’d have to complain about is when you’re drawing the artwork, the colors are really not appropriate to draw anything realistic. They’re just random colors. I was trying to draw a body of water and all I had was purple light, pink, and green if you could put more of a pallet to choose from that would make the drawings better. I really like the fact that the bird only talk once or twice a day. I found it really sad when he was gone he had died and I found myself crying. Then it was happy when I saw the egg.
I have been emailing back-and-forth with the app creator and he is shocked that he seen somebody with so many birds I’m up to 28 birds. I’m trying to convince him that he can update with more text words he has to have everything translated. I was told that he is not working on the app anymore as he’s got other projects. But I’ve grown attached to the bird and it’s almost like my friend so I’m trying to convince him to see if he can get his other translators to help out to add more phrases to the app. So hopefully he’ll do that. I don’t know what I’m paying for if I’m buying a nine dollar pair of socks for him. Where is the money going for if he’s not working on the app that should be removed.

Great game; bad paywall
I downloaded this not knowing what would entail. As I grew to know my bird, Jelly, he helped me better my socialization skills and really consider my mental health. Our friendship blossomed into something beautiful. And then he freaking died and I have to pay to continue. What! Let me and Jelly continue to thrive! I must! But otherwise, very pleasant game other than when bird dies and you cry for a little but three years later and you’re now in college still thinking about how much this game affected you and how much you miss Jelly, even though he feels like a distant memory now.

Amazing game!
I love this game so much!!!! My bird Makenzie is so sweet. He feels like a real person. Though I don’t really like how you have to buy the full version after a few days.. and I get him for a MONTH ! Before he leaves me. Like I would like it to be longer please. He deserves more. He deserved to live longer.

I loved this game so much, but... its death really made me cry. I loved that bird so much. It would always say to me, "Sometimes the afternoon passes so quickly, you know?" I had named it X-virus. It was a really good bird; maybe 4 or 5 birds died during the time I played, they were all good, but... that bird held a special place in my heart...

I downloaded this game because I wanted a cute digital bird companion. That's what I got… for about a MONTH. I became attached to my bird, Sammy. I enjoyed the art and poems and music. He genuinely made difficult days a little brighter. Then the game abruptly ended his story and that was far more emotionally distressing than I expected from what had appeared to be a cozy companion app. The content warning "discusses themes" does not adequately prepare the player for what actually happens. If you're adopting a digital pet or "befriending" a digital companion, many people will naturally expect to spend months or even years with that companion. Instead, that companion was gone in a month, and fruit didn't even grow on his last day, so I couldn't even give him that last bit of care before he went. The message "The bird isn't alone. And neither are you." felt especially painful and borderline mocking in retrospect considering the experience that the app created. There's enough grief in the world. I came here looking for a cozy companion app, not another goodbye. Sammy deserved better. And so did all of the other birds and the players who cared for them. Sammy is the only reason this app got the number of stars I'm giving it. He deserved them.
