You must record a noise and let the app know what bird makes this noise.
Pros: good source to identify bird sounds! Cons: some sounds if you talk, sing or make noises, the app thinks it’s “ human”
Free and it works!
Tried a few of these apps and this is my fav. It is also precise. Great job!
Keeps crashing
Keeps crashing so cannot get any results
Waste of time.
I’ve had this app for almost a year and it has never correctly identified a bird call. Even when staring at the bird knowing what it is it doesn’t ID it. I’m surprised it hasn’t identified a cardinal as a pterodactyl.
Laughably Bad
Works 0/10 times. Not a single positive ID. Throws out three guesses, mostly unrelated birds with remarkably different sounds.
Just Wants Access to Mic, But Doesn’t Load
Waste of time. Giving access to my mic for an app that won’t even load.

Приложение работать по принципу “пальцем в небо». Записал песню зяблика, приложение говорит что это дрозд, горихвостка или трясогузка. Бесполезная вещь
Doesn’t work
Installed the App, allowed it to access the microphone, the App then crashes. Rebooted phone, the App still crashes. Deleted App!
Maybe good app, but…
As always, crashes after opening (iPhone 7). 1 year later - the same. And my old comment was disappeared. Too bad.

Used to be a great app. Now crashes as soon as I open it. And there’s no update available.
Gone down hill
I was introduced to this app by a relative and initially it was spot on, but lately it can’ identify a cardinal at twenty feet which is sad

I’m not some old bird guy, but this is a great app for identifying nuisance birds that wake you up in the morning!
Steadily getting worse
There’s real problems with this app. It was pretty good in the beginning but now it can’t identify even the most common of birds. I can see the bird, the bird song is clearly recorded and yet the app can’t identify it. Something is wrong here

Je vis dans un parc de 10 hectares et j’étais ravie de l’application Bird NET mais depuis quelques jours l’application ne reconnaît plus rien et pire , alors que j’observe une mésange charbonnière qui chante elle détecte un aigle royal : je vous laisse imaginer mon étonnement et lorsque enfin l’application nous détecte la bonne espèce le commentaire est « hautement Incertain « guère fiable, dommage !

Of all the apps I use for business and work, it is great to find and use an app that helps me in the quiet moments. I don’t get joy from other apps, however, BirdNET delivers exactly that. Thanks to all involved.
Bug Issue
In android, there is a refresh button to reset the recorded track.. I think that refresh button is missing here in iOS version.! or may be I am the one who is suffering.!

Freshly Deleted
The app is basic. It picks up bird calls and gives you a sort of Yes, no, maybe this or no clue result with links to wiki pages on which bird it could be.
What brought me to delete it is the lag. You hear a bird! You open the app. You wait. You start recording. Bird is gone. It’s also AI based and it just got access to your microphone.
Look up a YouTube video of a bird. You’ll learn the call.

Great little app
It’s pretty spot on. Just wish that I could tell them that it’s a painted bunting I’m looking at in the Observation for it somehow. But still, really super app, especially since they were kind to make it free. Thanks.
