Very upset

I bought the app and have a valid paid subscription but suddenly can’t open the app anymore. It says that I have no subscription. So I probably lost all my recorded sightings… it’s the second time this happened…

Response from developer

We brought out a new version to address this issue. Please let me know if it is resolved now.

Good Guide

I like the guide and look forward to use it. However I miss a sorting function that sorts birds in taxonomic order (as used in nearly every other field guide). Alphabetical sorting per family is confusing and makes things hard to find.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback. We will work on this feature.

Best birding app for Southern Africa by far!

Tons of great pictorial references, multiple calls are great, the info on birds is amazing…. Also got the image recognition subscription which is awesome for identifying birds.

Crash central

Just bought app. Every time I add a quick sighting the entire app crashes (IPhone 16pro 18.6.2). Not worth the frustration save your cash.

App Crash

Uploading photos for a bird sighting crashes the App every single time. No response from the customer care contact mail.

Amazing app

The best bird app available. Great ease-of-use, comprehensive information and some amazing features like image recognition and the managing trips and sightings. I love it!

Can’t add sightings

The app keeps crashing when I try to add a sighting. Have tried several different birds and only worked with the first one.

Immage rec

Immage recognition is amaizing

Big boost for novice bird watchers

I’m so pleased I purchased this app! Being able to narrow the search to birds occurring in your current area is super helpful. Photos and recordings of bird calls are excellent quality. The extended texts for each bird are interesting and enriching. It’s like having a comprehensive bird field guide in your pocket!

Best birding app

I used them all … this is the best one. Really enjoy this app

Disappointed

No bird call recording & identification feature

Response from developer

We have now released an update which has this feature.

Love birds? You’ll love this app

So intuitive, detailed and beautifully presented. This app surpasses all the others, the photos are brilliant, information is pertinent and the egg size always amazes me. If you like birds, at whatever level you are you need no other. This one is amazing.

Mixed feelings

Great content, but frustratingly hard to use. Menus not intuitive and identify by traits not great
Also, I want to cancel my subscription and even after 10 minutes searching, I can still not find where and how to cancel.
Summary: great content and concept, but some way to go to make it truly useful

Response from developer

We would love to hear some more details and suggestions. Can you please contact us at info@birdproapp.com To cancel your subscription you can use the standard Apple mechanism which you can find under your iOS settings. If you contact us we can assist further with this too.

Best birding app in SA

We’re a family of birders and are so excited to have found this app. It’s so informative. The multiple images and bird descriptions are accurate and very helpful when identifying birds. The image recognition feature is top class!

Easy and intuitive

Great features, detail and it’s intuitive. Bird ID feature is great and so is the recent sightings feature. Great for a beginner.

Still the best

Been using this app for about 4 years. Just continues to deliver. I’ve learnt so much about birds. The best thing about it is the sequential methods and algorithms to shortlist a sighting. It isn’t just a reference app, it’s an actual IDENTIFICATION app. Very rare.
