About

A quiet backyard, real birds, and nowhere you need to be. Set out a feeder and see who shows up. Pick one of eight regions across North America, and the birds that actually live there start dropping by: chickadees and cardinals in the Northeast, quail and roadrunners in the Southwest, magpies up in the Rockies. Your yard keeps that place’s clock, seasons, and weather. The birds roost at night, some head south for the winter, and if it’s snowing there, it’s snowing on your feeders too. WHAT YOU PUT OUT DECIDES WHO VISITS Seed, suet, sugar water. A bird bath, a pond, a birdhouse. A shrub or an apple tree. Each one draws a different crowd. Keep the feeders full of the right seed and the bath clean, and the shyer, rarer birds will eventually find you. 67 KINDS OF BIRDS TO FIND Every bird has its own portrait and a card of real facts, and you can have the narrator read it aloud. How often a bird turns up is based on real feeder counts from thousands of backyard birdwatchers. WATCH A FAMILY GROW Come spring, a pair might settle into your tree or birdhouse. You’ll see them court, build, lay eggs, and raise their chicks. SURPRISE VISITORS Rabbits hop across the lawn by day. After dark, raccoons, foxes, and owls come out, and a deer might wander in for a fallen apple. A FEW MINUTES A DAY Check in over breakfast, top off the feeders, and see who came by. Your yard grows a little every day, and the birds keep visiting while you’re away. CALM, SAFE, AND SIMPLE No ads. Nothing about you ever leaves your iPhone or iPad. No timers, and nothing to lose. Your home yard is free. One purchase unlocks every habitat in North America, with as many yards as you like, shared with your family. No subscription.

What's New in Birdtopia

1.1

October 30, 2026

Birdtopia now plays on iPhone. • Play on iPhone, held on its side. It's the same app as on iPad, so if you've bought North America, it opens on your iPhone too (if it doesn't, tap Restore purchases). Each iPhone and iPad keeps its own yards. • The yard's sounds now play even when your iPhone or iPad is on Silent, and your own music or podcast keeps playing underneath. To quiet the yard, tap its sound button. • Clearer narration: a few of Archie's and Skye's lines are cleaned up or recorded again.
