About
Biryani Yaar is an experiment notebook for people who cook biryani.
It’s not a timer and not a recipe app. It records your time and your observations — even when both hands are busy.
■ Why it exists
You can measure every spice, but the timing — when you lifted the rice, when you dropped to low heat — always ends up as a vague memory. The one piece of data that matters most never becomes a number. This app fixes exactly that.
■ What you can do
· Plan: build today’s amounts and steps on top of a style (Kacchi / Pakki / Dum). Turn a past cook into your next starting point.
· Weigh: teaspoons and tablespoons auto-convert to grams per ingredient. See the difference from your plan instantly.
· Cook: one count-up clock. Notifications fire at each step. One big tap to stamp the moment.
· Taste: record texture, score and notes. Review plan-vs-actual diffs, observations and a finished-dish photo together.
· History: every cook is saved on your device, always there to look back on. Progress you can see.
■ Built for the kitchen
· Hands-free logging: big taps and voice input for wet hands in front of the flame
· Reliable timing: elapsed time is recomputed from the start, surviving lock and stepping away; notifications are pre-scheduled
· Fully offline: everything stays on your device. No account, no data leaves the phone. Works in airplane mode.
· Biryani masala: log and grow your own spice blends, and link them to a plan
· Dark by design: readable next to the stove or during a late-night prep
· 7 languages: Japanese, English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu
This isn’t a beginner’s textbook. It’s a notebook for people who are ready to cook — to trace, notice, and grow their own style.
Make your next plate the one you serve with pride.
