About
Bishop Vault keeps your private photos, videos, notes, scans, and files behind their own passcode, encrypted on your device.
There is no account, no sign-up, no server, and no tracking. Nothing from your vault is sent to us, so we cannot see what is in it.
WHAT YOU CAN KEEP
Photos and videos from your library or the camera, with location data removed as they come in.
Documents scanned with the built-in scanner, cleaned up and saved as searchable PDFs.
Notes written inside the vault.
Any file from the Files app.
HOW IT PROTECTS YOU
Everything is encrypted on your device with XChaCha20-Poly1305 and Argon2id from libsodium, with its own 256-bit key for each item.
Nothing in the vault appears in Photos, Files, or the app switcher, and the vault locks every time you leave the app.
Face ID or Touch ID is optional and never replaces your passcode.
Wrong passcodes bring longer waits, and the count survives a reinstall.
Bishop Vault supports more than one vault.
YOUR WAY BACK IN
A recovery kit, made on your device, opens the vault if you forget your passcode and opens a backup on a new device. Keep it somewhere other than your phone. We cannot reset a passcode for you, because we never hold your key.
ON ALL YOUR DEVICES
One purchase for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Optional iCloud sync keeps your vaults the same on every device, encrypted before anything leaves your device.
FREE AND PLUS
The free plan holds up to 25 items in each vault and includes notes, search, previews, the scanner, sync, your recovery kit, and backup and restore. Bishop Vault Plus removes the item limit and adds albums, plus three options you turn on only if you want them: a private diary, strict lockout, and intruder photos. Plus is a yearly subscription through your Apple Account; it renews every year at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Everything you add stays yours on either plan: you can always open, edit, copy, export, delete, and back up every item.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Bishop Vault protects against everyday snooping: a partner, family member, roommate, friend, or thief holding your unlocked phone. It cannot stop spyware already on your device or someone watching you type your passcode, and it makes no promise against forensic tools, police, or border searches. No outside security review yet. We say so because you deserve to know.
