MacOS vintage goodness

This is the coolest little camera app around. The minimalism and simplicity is the beauty as it harkens back to the days of classic MacOS days and sub 1 megapixel cameras of yore. Such a refreshing creative change from my Sony’s 61 megapixels.

Downloaded. Used. Emailed my best designer fiend, “Oh man I found the perfect camera app.” No notes.

Fun, featured filled retro camera

This is a great app with quite a few features and options, plus excellent engineering. It’s almost impossible to find apps this small anywhere on iOS!

New update is great!

I love the tweaks and Easter eggs! Improves on what was already great while keeping true to the retro nature

A average 8-bit camera.

Honestly, I love old tech and low res graphics. And this reminds me of that. I used it for portraits mainly, but sometimes I can use it for aesthetic or to play around when I’m bored. Only problem is that color cost money. And they don’t have a zoom feature also. And if they add zoom then PLEASE DON’T make it cost something, as it’s ridiculous, especially paying for color is ridiculous. But overall, great app!

New update seemingly broke color mode in Photos edit widget

After working great for many years and retroactively scanning photos I took with my SLR into 8-bit glory, the app kept asking me to install color graphics in the Photos edit mode. Color works fine when taking pictures still, just not for altering existing photos. I can still save black & white scans from the edit widget.

Perfect

I don’t think I can put into words the little tickle in my heart I get when I see the color photos taken with this app. It’s not a filter. You can zoom in and see all the chunky little bits of color making up the image and that alone is worth 10x the price I paid.

Love this camera

It’s fun. Thank you.

Mostly good

Images are saved with incorrect rotation attributes. The iOS photo gallery glitches with this.

Edit: Fixed with the disk drive update!

Fun retro camera

If you enjoy dithering and one-bit graphics, this is a great app for it! Characteristic of any Iconfactory app it is well-designed and well-executed. The theming is really fun.

The only thing it’s missing which I’d like to see is the ability to adjust the brightness threshold (or the pre-dithering exposure level). Sometimes it would be nice to tweak the process a bit to make the image look better.

p.s. I was tickled to see this app finally updated after six years, so here, have a review! :)

Hahaha I love you folks so much!

See you in seven years, indeed. Here’s to that!

Fun!

Old school Mac users or even Gameboy camera fans will love this I think.

Give it a try, it’s definitely a fun way to take pics

Will there ever be an update

After 4 years, will there ever be an update?

As a camera, it’s great!

This the exact effect I want to achieve, and it has a cool simple / retro interface, but I wanted to use the effect on images in my camera roll and was disappointed to see there is no import function. Maybe they’re trying to stay authentic to the simplicity of retro technology, but it’s frustrating that there are no other apps that achieve the same affect with imported images.

If you go into Photos and Edit the image, BitCam should be available in the ... menu. You can apply the effect and then save the updated image in your camera roll.

Ossom

I wanna send you a donat 💸

Cool app, but buggy.

App freezes after you share to someone. Bad experience given I’ve paid for the color version. If you’re gonna make a user pay, whatever is in the app better be flawless.

Turn

Why does the picture turn sideway when saved in photo album and can’t get it to turn upright
