What's New in BitLens
1.5
September 29, 2026
New • HDR scopes: HDR10 and HLG video is measured as its real signal and labeled in nits. The waveform and histogram show a nits scale that ends at the video's mastering peak, plus the frame's brightest pixel and average, with a Nits / Code values switch. • Now Playing: control playback from the Lock Screen, Control Center, and Dynamic Island, with the video's title and thumbnail. • Vectorscope: color bar target boxes (75% or 100%), a skin tone line, and 1×, 2×, and 3× zoom for low-saturation footage. HDR targets follow broadcast HDR reference bars, and BT.2020 video can switch to Rec. 709 targets. • Histogram: new Luma channel, linear and log scales, clipped shadows and highlights shown under the chart, and mean, median, and standard deviation for each channel. Improved • The live vectorscope now colors its trace from the actual pixels during playback, like it does for stills. • The histogram and waveform analyze 10-bit video and high bit-depth photos at full precision, both for stills and during playback. • The chromaticity diagram is sharper, and during playback it plots P3 and BT.2020 video against their own gamut, outlined next to Rec. 709. • HDR10 brightness metadata (Brightest Pixel, Brightest Frame Average) now appears in file details even when the container doesn't include it. • The live scopes menu lists every scope directly instead of in a submenu. • The play button on a file's thumbnail stays readable over bright frames. • Settings now has a Feature Request link. Fixed • Fixed wrong colors in lossless still captures (Capture Still PNGs), which could turn yellows magenta. • Fixed live HDR scopes clipping everything brighter than SDR white.
