BitLife used to be on top of the world, with every Internet influencer playing it once or twice. But overtime, the game has become greedy, the developers became money starved, and the use of AI soured everything the game was originally designed to be. It was never a completely realistic simulation game. But instead, one where you could live a simulated life with the option to do anything and everything, 1000s of features added every year, and so on. But overtime, it became clear that the developers had stopped caring about the games quality, and focused on the fanbase loyal enough to deposit more than 30$ just to have a complete game. Not that it is inherently bad to have dlc. But when good and essential content is locked in dlc, it makes the game seem far less “complete” than it is. Regardless, the DLC is worth it for any long time players. If you play it enough, then get the DLC. If you don’t, then just play it for free. They do urge you to buy DLC, but it’s not exactly essential to enjoy the game. Nevertheless, in the current year BitLife is more GTA than a realistic simulation game. But is still worth your time, if you can ignore the AI advertising and just enjoy the game.
