Black Deck has become increasingly difficult to enjoy as a competitive player. Many players have spent significant amounts of money building and upgrading specific decks, only to have the game mechanics, progression, rewards, and card balance repeatedly changed afterward.
New cards are continually introduced that can substantially outperform existing cards, creating a constant pressure to spend more money just to remain competitive. Cards and decks that players previously invested heavily in can quickly become far less useful after balance changes or the introduction of newer, stronger cards.
The competitive environment today feels completely different from what many players originally invested in. Instead of rewarding strategy and long-term investment, the game increasingly feels like you have to continually purchase the newest cards to keep up.
I understand that a free-to-play game needs to make money, but there needs to be a reasonable balance between monetization and respecting the time and money players have already invested.

Addictive
I’ve been playing Black Deck for about two months now, and I have to say—it’s incredibly addictive! I actually started playing because I saw an ad for it on another app, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I agree with some of the other reviews that the pricing can be a little odd. However, as you play, you learn what is worth spending on and what is better to hold off on. This is definitely a long-term game, and you can progress as quickly or slowly as you want. Spending can help you move faster or get a card you really want, but I don’t feel it’s necessary to enjoy the game or build a strong deck.
There are ads, but I don’t find them to be any worse than other mobile games. I also appreciate the work that goes into the updates and events. When issues with the app do happen, the developers have compensated players with free items, which makes the occasional problem much easier to overlook.
What I really enjoy is the depth of the game. There are so many ways to build your deck, and power doesn’t always mean you’ll win. A deck with good synergy can be much stronger than simply putting your highest-powered cards together. The cards are creative and fun, and the God cards have some beautiful artwork.
The game also continues to give you reasons to improve. As you progress, you face stronger opponents while also gaining access to better cards, rewards, and higher-level dungeon battles where you can earn legendary artifacts. Legendary cards aren’t automatically stronger right away and can be harder to level, but many scale much higher over time, which makes investing in them rewarding.
There are also plenty of ways to participate outside of regular battles. Joining a good guild can make a huge difference. Guild members can help you improve your deck, and Guild Wars can help you progress faster. There are even long-term investments, like gem mines and storage, that may cost more upfront but pay off the longer you play.
What surprised me most is how much more strategic the game has become for me. When I started, I mostly looked at which cards had the highest power. Two months later, I’m thinking about synergy, abilities, heroes, gods, artifacts, traits, and how everything works together. I’m constantly experimenting, and even when I think I’ve built a strong deck, there’s still something I can improve.
Overall, Black Deck is a great game if you enjoy collecting, strategy, and having something to work toward. You can play casually or really dive into the strategy and deck building. After two months, I’m still hooked—and I still feel like I have a lot more to discover!

Horrible Customer Support
Terrible Support for a Problem They Created
I enjoyed the game until I ran into an issue involving a Blue Dragon Mecha skin I purchased.
The game showed that I owned the skin, but there was no option to equip it. I contacted support, followed their instructions exactly, restarted the game, provided multiple screenshots, and repeatedly explained that the skin menu they said should appear simply did not exist on my account.
Only after several back-and-forth messages did support finally check with the developers and discover the real reason: my account had been placed into an undisclosed test group where skins cannot be equipped until Account Level 17. I was only Level 12.
So the game allowed me to purchase a skin without warning me that I would not be allowed to use it for another five account levels because of an experiment I was never told I was part of.
Their own support documentation also said skins could be equipped immediately, which was not true for my account.
I asked for a reasonable solution: enable the feature, remove me from the test group, or simply refund what I spent on the unusable skin. They refused all three.
One support representative even told me that the early levels can be completed “fairly quickly,” completely missing the point. Another characterized the undisclosed test restriction as simply a “feature of your account,” said nothing more could be done, warned me not to submit duplicate requests, and closed the conversation.
The skin itself is not the real issue. The issue is the way this was handled. The developers created an undisclosed restriction, placed my account in a test group, allowed me to purchase without warning me, support initially gave me incorrect instructions because they apparently did not know about their own test, and once they finally figured out what happened, they refused to offer any meaningful remedy.
After seeing how support handles a problem caused entirely by their own testing and lack of disclosure, I am seriously questioning whether this game deserves any more of that time.

Way to many pop up adds. Its a nice simple game but i can barely get a word in between the adds. Every time i click on something theres another pop up. Just deleted it

Game super fun even though copy paste game of raid shadow. Only thing that is grinding me gears is the game crashes so many times! Always at worst parts where if you leave all the loot after is missed no chace getting it. Lost out on so many treasure tower tuns / lucky boards.

Too many pop ups
Love that it’s has just enough difference to set it apart from other TCG’s, but the amount of pop ups for pay to play is crazy!
Won’t start
I loved this so much a few years ago. However, after reinstalling it the game always freezes in the tutorial. The rat attacks my archer and then the game freezes and becomes completely unresponsive.

Fun game but way too many pop ups. Another greedy gaming company that focuses on pop ups every 10 seconds as opposed to actual content. I understand they need money but these rates of pop ups is ridiculous! Also $120 usd for a gear set is absolutely absurd. Whoever is in charge of your pricing should be fired immediately!

Dungeon Artifacts
After I beat a new stage in Dungeon, I’ll have a lucky spin. Every spin, I always watch two ads so I can get a guaranteed chest. Those chest will give me artifacts. But for some reason, sometimes the artifact just doesn’t show up in my storage. I never find them.
Also, I don’t know if it is my phone or not, but the game often crashes.

Comprei o Passe de Batalha no Black Deck e, após certo ponto da progressão, as recompensas passaram a ser marcadas como recebidas sem serem efetivamente adicionadas à minha conta. Gravei vídeos, enviei capturas de tela e demonstrei que os recursos permaneciam com a mesma quantidade antes e depois da coleta das recompensas.
O mais frustrante não foi apenas o possível erro no jogo, mas a forma como o suporte tratou o caso. Recebi respostas contraditórias afirmando que as recompensas haviam sido entregues em datas nas quais algumas delas sequer tinham sido desbloqueadas. Mesmo apresentando provas, não houve uma análise adequada do problema, apenas respostas prontas informando que tudo estava correto.
Sou um jogador que investiu dinheiro no jogo e esperava um atendimento sério diante de um problema envolvendo conteúdo pago. Infelizmente, minha experiência com o suporte foi de total descaso e negligência com o cliente.

Crashes won’t load
It’s crazy you pay to play a game and it crashes non stop and won’t load. What’s the point in spending the money I have to play if it won’t load.
