Black Diary 1887

The Black Diary 1887 (BD1887) app is a culture hub and marketplace, offering immersive, GPS-enabled self guided walks and drives through major cities, delving into the African Diaspora’s influence. Each city will have hundreds of entries that will include audio, images, and text. BD1887 is also a marketplace for live experiences and Black-owned businesses. BD1887’s inaugural city is Paris, France. Take BD1887 tours or curate your own to explore the historical and contemporary people, places and experiences associated with Black Paris. Users can read and hear passages from Frederieck Douglass’s 1887 Paris travel diary, visit the courts that produced NBA star Victor Wembanyama, shop in Little Africa, and dine at MoSuke, a Michelin-starred restaurant by Afro-Parisian chef Mory Sacko. We will soon expand to 20 additional cities.
