Great Hitting Tool

Great tool to help improve swing mechanics. Daughter is able to see in real time what she needs to correct and goals that she continues to work towards each session.

Happy with the product

We got the sensor about a month ago and we have liked it. It is easy to install, easy to you and easy to follow on the app. What I dislike is how the sensor is always on and the battery dies quickly.
Also I really like with the new updates that you can send coaches your progress report!
Overall solid product.

From Swing Analytics Platform to Glorified Swing Counter

I purchased Blast as a Christmas gift this past December 2025 for my daughter who plays competitive travel softball because it USED to be a legitimate swing analytics platform. The value was in the ability to track swings over time, review reports, analyze trends, and export data for deeper evaluation. That was the entire point.

From December to now, Blast has quietly gutted the very features that made the platform useful.

Blast Connect is being retired.
Player Reports were removed.
Data syncing stopped.
CSV/Excel export functionality does not exist.
And according to support, there is currently no timeline to bring it back EVER.

What makes this especially frustrating is that support previously told users export functionality was being worked on for the future. Instead, the opposite happened, features disappeared.

So what are you actually left with?

A glorified swing counter inside a mobile app.

That’s it.

If you are a parent, coach, travel player, or serious athlete looking for long-term player development and analytics, understand this before investing money into Blast hardware and subscriptions: you no longer truly own or meaningfully access your own data outside the app.

In 2026, with AI-powered analysis, video breakdown tools, automated trend tracking, and advanced baseball/softball analytics rapidly evolving, removing export and reporting capabilities is honestly shocking. Most serious users want MORE access to their data, not less.

The frustrating part is that Blast already had the foundation. Instead of evolving into a modern AI-integrated analytics ecosystem, they stripped away core functionality and locked everything into a watered-down mobile experience.

Support was polite and transparent, but the product direction itself has become deeply disappointing.

There are now far better options emerging for players and families who actually care about analytics, AI-assisted development, historical tracking, and owning their own performance data.

Unfortunately, Blast no longer appears to be one of them.

Nice sensor; Poor Customer Support

Just started using the sensor with my 10 year old. The real time feedback is very helpful and helps with immediate swing adjustments. My only criticism so far is customer support. I paid the annual fee but my account does not show me as a paid user. I’ve tried multiple times to contact customer support but they are unresponsive. No one returns emails or picks up the phone. Hope someone helps soon.

FAQ

What does the Blast Softball app do?

The app uses patented technology to analyze your softball swings, providing detailed metrics like bat speed, time to contact, and attack angle. It captures video of your swings and overlays these metrics, allowing for in-depth analysis and improvement.

What hardware is required to use the app?

To collect data, the Blast Softball app requires the Blast Softball Swing Analyzer or Personal Swing Trainer, along with the Blast bat attachment. These are sold separately and connect to your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth® Smart technology.

Is there a cost to use the app and its features?

The app itself is free to download. However, advanced functionality, player management, and premium services require a membership or free trial, and a Blast Connect account. The hardware is also a separate purchase.

What kind of insights does the app provide for players and coaches?

The app automatically assesses swing quality in three key areas: plane, connection, and rotation. Coaches can use these insights for player development, recruitment, and to provide targeted drills and recommendations.

Can I share my swing data with my coach?

Yes, you can send your swing videos to your coach for further analysis. The app also offers Mobile Video Analysis tools, allowing coaches to provide feedback with voice-over recordings and video markup.
