Disrespectful, just buy it on XBOX, PS4/5, Switch, Steam
I’ve written out several reviews (3) for this same title only to be disrespected from the team that keeps replying to everyone about reaching out to the dev team. It’s been three FULL years and NETASS isn’t going to fix the issue, they only reply to everyone to make themselves look good to the apple team. I’ve called and even emailed the apple concerning this sham of a IP that is broken since iOS 16 but they keep it on the store to take/steal money and the satisfaction that your going to play a great game. YOU CANNOT even get a refund even if you’ve purchased it. NETASS makes online games so let’s all STOP wasting our time and money on EVERY game they make or develop regardless of how well their games are. TOGETHER APES STRONG. Well since they treat everyone like monkeys….

Still not working
So I made a review a few weeks ago and the devs reached out and said something not even remotely informative or helpful to the situation that myself and tons of other people are having, but it seems that whenever I open the game it gets to the Netease logo and immediately crashes afterwards. I’ve bought this game a while back on the same device (iPhone 12 Pro) and it worked fine, so it seems that one of you guys updates has kept the game from booting and just needs to be tweaked a little. We’ve all paid a solid 10 bucks for this. I think it’s fair that you guys try to do something for everyone that has paid for the game and are having the SAME issue, instead of reaching out and telling how is how helpful you guys WANT to be.

This really is a great game…..
It’s just a shame that the developers don’t care enough to fix the crash on startup issue and they have a PR person here in the AppStore telling people they need to try playing on a device with more RAM (even when people are saying they have devices that have come out AFTER this game stopped working…..)…. so the game hasn’t been functional since iOS 16 launched and it’s looking like it never will.
Right now if you buy this and you are running iOS 16 or up, you just basically got taken for a tenner. If you can still apply for a refund, you most definitely should before the time limit expires.

Please Fix The Game!!!!
I am a huge fan of Metroidvania games (particularly the Castlevania entries). I really enjoyed Bloodstained when it came out on iOS. Ever since the iOS 16 update, this game won’t even load . It simply crashes every time I attempt to start the game. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted my iPhone, and NOTHING WORKS!!! I really hope the app developer will read the feedback in these reviews. I’m not the only one having this issue. I’m running the game on an iPhone 14 Plus, and before that, I ran the game on an iPhone XR. There are literally forums on the internet with people requesting this game be fixed!!! Unless the app developer updates / fixes this game, save your money. I have this game on Switch, but I prefer to have some of my favorite games on the iPhone since it would be unwise to carry my Switch every where to every setting.

This purchase was stolen from us
No longer able to play this game after recent iOS update and because Apple no longer allows downgrading our iOS version we have essentially been robbed. There ought to be legal repercussions against this kind of thing, especially since it is not that old of a an application to warrant its support being discarded like this. I want my game or my money back.

Great until iOS 16
The game was working great, almost as good as on PC. After the update to iOS 16 the game no longer runs. It crashes right after launch on the first splash screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and on a different device, with the same issue. Please fix this, I paid for a game I can’t play!

Almost perfect
As a fan of Castelvania Sotn I got this game expecting a similar experience. You won’t be disappointed if your looking for an intresticg Metroidvania game. It has good graphics, soundtrack and it’s gameplay it’s enjoyable. My biggest complain it’s that the game it’s unbeatable. Yes, one can’t fight one of the last bosses which leads up to the end of the game. To make things worst, the DLC I payed for is useless because it won’t activate unless I beat the game (impossible.) Don’t waste your money on this until this bug it’s fixed…

[Update]: This game no longer launches on iOS 16. Please update the game to fix this issue.
I love this game, this is my third time buying it. The port so far seems pretty solid with the exception of full controller support. While the main gameplay does support the controller, there are a few things that should be improved. Please remove the on-screen controls while a physical controller is being used. Please let the controller work in the map and other menus. Do this and it is easily a 5-star game.

Does not work at all. Waste of $
Bought and downloaded the app. Took a bit since it is so big. Have plenty of space and am on a stable wifi connection, however the application just crashes 24/7. Every single time without failure, the app will attempt to open, show a screen for a split second and then crash and take me back to my Home Screen. Spent $10 because I heard it was a good game to play if you liked Castlevania Symphony of the Night, but am beyond disappointed. I’m on a iPhone 13 Pro Max completely up to date with updates and everything and the game just will not open. I have yet to try it on my iPad Pro, but I’m not very optimistic that it will work on that either. 0/5

iPadOS 16 broke this game. Also when is full controller support going to be implemented?
Doesn’t start anymore. Thought the issue was stage manager screwing things up, but disabling it only gets me as far as some weird prompt asking to confirm pasting something from Safari before crashing me back to the Home Screen anyway. Since I bought this almost a year ago, official support through the official Apple channels isn’t allowing me to address this issue behind the scenes, so my only hope is that someone sees the problem here and takes the necessary steps to fix it. Or get a refund.
Also, although it was nice of the developer to include controller support, it’s not full controller support; the touchscreen action buttons don’t disappear when the game detects a controller connected to the device, and you still have to touch the screen to open up the game’s menu instead of pressing a physical button on the controller, which can easily spell life or death when you know you can’t dodge an attack and you need to pause to access your healing items.

Won’t even load to the title screen
I recently upgraded my phone to the 14 pro max and when I went to start this game it shows the NetEase screen for two seconds then goes right back to my home screen. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no change. This game was quite good playing on my 12 pro max, not sure what happened but it didn’t work any more

WARNING: iPadOS New Update BRICKED GAME
So disappointed. A month of grinding and today the new iPadOS update makes the game unable to run. Blocked from opening on 8th gen iPad and the new iPad Pro 11” m1. Will still run on my iPhone 11, but my GameviceLive controller is the whole reason for playing the iOS port. Woke up this morning to continue the underground waterway and surprise!!! Game is bricked on all iPads running the newest version

Fun till later
I really like this game and enjoyed playing it until recently I tried to open it and now it keeps crashing. I also tried to contact the developer to fix this problem but there isn’t any email address or other way to report this problem.
Amazing game, but…
Game is great, classic symphony of the night feel. Disappointed in recent lack of updates and no m1 support. Controller support still requires touch controls as well which is frustrating.
Good game but poor controller support
I rated this game so poorly because I was hoping to play with a controller. Having to use the touchscreen so much and having to figure out how to hide on screen controller stuff when using a controller is just appalling. This is an excellent game that could use some attention for usability with a controller. At home I just use PlayStation remote play since the experience is so much better. Stay away if you want to play with a controller.

Fatal Crash Prevents Progression
Before anything, bear in mind that I’ve been playing this on an iPhone as well as a small spoiler ahead.
This game has been working just fine up until the point where I attempt to enter the boss room in the Hall of Termination to fight Gebel. I’ve tried many things such as repair the client, lower the resolution,and lowering the FPS. However no matter what I did the game always crashes when I try to enter the room.
This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately as progression is no longer possible. It seems unlikely that it will be fixed due to the fact of as of this review; it’s been 7 months since the last patch.
Until then, I cannot recommend this game to anyone.

Awesome game
Everything is perfect except for the achievements, they only show in the game but they aren’t connected to Game Center even though I’m signed in with both apple ID and Game Center. What’s the point of having Game Center Signed in when I can’t see any of the game’s achievements on it?
Beware of game crash
Game crashes if you enter the hall of termination boss door. This happens if you download the dlc IGA boss fight hoping for a patch. Or not I don’t really care just a waste of money that’s all.
It should be a five star game
Everything is perfect unless you download tha IGA boss fights because congratulations you just softlocked your game. It will now crash every time you enter the Gebel boss fight. How in the name of god does this get past quality assurance it’s been like this for months it’s a PAID dlc why is it still for sale, why isn’t it fixed.

Fantastic with awful controls
Just finished a boss and I swear around 50% of my inputs were being ignored. Thank god you can stack recovery items. Overall my enjoyment has probably been half of what it’d be in any other castlevania because of this.
