Recent UI changes are nauseating
Literally nauseating. I'm playing on an iPhone 12 and the UI buttons are so small that they cause eye strain and nausea. No options to change UI to better suit play on a phone. I'll probably stop playing as a result.
Downfall
After spending many years, I had a great time on Blue Archive, but after this update, putting so much effort, so much time into the game, the gacha system got bad and in the future 3 months from now is getting worse. I spilt whatever pyroxenes and free 10 roll card I had and was forced to choose one and leave the other behind. I only had common draws. Just pyroxenes would be a serious waste of money and be bad investment. Please whoever is reading this, do not choose to invest time in this game, it’s going down a path of corruption and dismantlement, please don’t make the same mistake I have.

Future bad updates on the horizon
The game's characters, story, music are great, but the gacha system will change for the worst when it eventually catches up to the JP server's complete revamp of the gacha system, turning it from a shared-progress spark/claim at 200 system where if you luck out, you can get another featured unit with the same point counter, into a 50/50 coinflip at 100 points that can make it even worse for you to continue, and completely wipes your progress if you do obtain the rated up unit so you're forced to start from 0 pity for the next one.
This is made even worse since unlike other games that use the 50/50 system with single-character, long-running banners, this game runs multiple banners for short periods of time (sometimes up to 6+) consecutively where this system is actively detrimental. As a mid-heavy spender, I cannot recommend this game in its future state when that update inevitably arrives.

All the previous issues still exist but it’s been made worse. They completely ruined the character recruit system for a worse one, ignored feedback on it, and have provided the most corporate non-apology I’ve ever seen through a personal account.

Great game, loads fine
Disregard those that complain about long loading times when it’s their own wifi that can’t load even the loading bar. I’d say this actually loads quite fast, even on mobile data. The storyline is very suspenseful and interesting, and the gameplay is great. Though there’s a bug for me that says a session is active (I only play on one device) when trying to log in after the game exits (likely due to a RAM issue), but it’s easy to resolve and I can just restart the app.

I used to really love this game
New announcement completely reworks the gacha system. No more can you possibly get both students within 200 pulls. If you get the character from the banner before 200, your counter will reset! Effectively Hoyo 50/50 but WORSE because zero carry over! I have loved this game for years, played on mobile/steam and bought many pyroxenes. If this is not rolled back I will stop playing completely!! IBUKI DESERVED BETTER!! 💢

Gotta spend money
The drop rates kinda suck and their whole currency system is useless can buy anything in the game with the currency and it’s just a spend to win and grind game. If the drop rates were better I’d give it 3 stars but it isn’t and is kinda lame to just grind and play
Lack of Strategy
Blue Archive is a lot like many other of these kinds of games. They all differ just a little bit from each other.
The positive being the Graphics, Mechanics, Variety of customization, voice acted characters.
But then you have the negative - The story has an inconsistent flow through explaining what’s happening. The plot is being rushed and the grammar is off putting. There are no animations accompanying any of the cutscenes or dialogue.
There’s barely any logic to the story. It takes FOREVER for the game to show you how to use its basic mechanics.
And most of all, Blue Archive acts as a ‘choice game’, but it usually only gives you one choice when you “get a say” in the story, therefore there is no difference in the dialogue, and your own character can’t make any of their own decisions whatsoever, despite the fact that your character is called sensei (meaning high in command).
You see; what makes a game A Game, is the fact that You’re able to control what’s happening. Otherwise, you’re practically just watching a series or movie.
You CANT EVEN PLAY AS YOUR OWN CHARACTER in the fighting mini games either. It’s painful to watch yourself do nothing to contribute. Your character can’t and doesn’t have conversations with the other characters. Yet the other characters look at you as if you’ve done all these great things. It’s bland. It’s unrealistic. Its pitiful. It’s degrading. It’s degenerative.
Unless they plan to fix this in the future, which I doubt they will, I would not at all recommend playing this.
