Great App

Thank you for the realization of a great idea! Andrew Huberman says it’s important to have blue light exposure in the morning.

Lovely and so relaxing too, I use + lightbox

As the developer says, 200 lux is not the same as 10,000 like my lightbox, but I LOVE the ripples, so calming and put me in a relaxed and positive mood.
Needed a bit of fiddling with the settings to get how I wanted it - landscape mode is easier, and I found you can use your own photos if you want to add them in and take away the ones you don’t like.
You can also have whatever music you like playing in the background if you use Spotify or similar, just mute the app sounds.
Great way to deal with anxiety as just a couple of mins of this and the tension in my solar plexus dissolved and I was feeling fine.
Thank you for developing this!💜👍🏻🙏🏼

Blows up on boot.

I found a previous review here I’d written, which was a surprise to me: apparently, the app ran for me at one time, though I could tell what it was for. Whatever it did or didn’t do then, it’s doing less than that now, as it blows up on boot. Can’t run it at all.

Given that the developer last updated it nine months ago, it appears to be abandoned, so I spose it doesn’t matter that it doesn’t run, though if I were the developer, I’d delete it so as not to give people the idea that the developer creates broken apps. Better to delete it from the store unless the developer isn’t writing apps these days, in which case a broken app isn’t hurting his reputation.

FAQ

What does the Blue Light Therapy app do?

This app uses natural brain stimulation techniques with blue light and interactive visuals to help you wake up more effectively in the morning. It aims to activate specific brain regions responsible for the sleep-to-wake transition, leading to increased alertness and reduced reliance on snoozing or social media.

How does the app stimulate the brain?

The app stimulates the suprachiasmatic nucleus, a brain region activated by blue light. It also uses imagery that triggers survival-related neural networks, signaling safety and a good environment to your brain. The interactive ripple effect on the screen further keeps your brain engaged.

How much does the Blue Light Therapy app cost?

The app is a paid application, meaning you need to purchase it to use its features. The description explicitly mentions supporting development by buying the app, and it states there are absolutely no ads ever.

What are the benefits of using this app?

Users can expect benefits such as boosted mood, easier waking up, restored alertness, feeling happier, and improved motivation, especially in office environments. These effects are attributed to the brain rewarding itself for perceiving a safe and beneficial environment.

How should I use the app for best results?

For optimal results, use the app in a well-lit room in the morning for 4 minutes. Ensure your device's brightness is set to maximum and disable any night shift features. Do not use the app at night, as it is designed to wake you up and could interfere with sleep.
