Blue Tutor Study Guide

This is an honest review. I opted to purchase the blue tutor study material for the 2026 Detective Exam - Part 1. As someone who only used this material and NO other study aids, I am extremely pleased with my test performance. I also didn’t devote a ton of time to it. Life.
I can only imagine what my score would be if I actually studied consistently. This was a great tool to prepare for the exam. I’ll be anxiously waiting to purchase Part 2!

Great Handy App

One of the most useful resources I’ve come across. All within a tap or two on the screen. It’s very convenient, great OT tracking, and I like the access to the community when I or other officers need help.

Can’t access

I filled the form to have my department added to the app so I can login and also emailed the support but I haven’t gotten a response back since April.

Mass data collection

Used app one day and checked privacy report in settings, against my permission app contacted sent my data to bunch of Google websites and Amazon. Data not collected is a lie. If you value privacy on your own device do not use. If you use dept phone then app might be of some use. Data not collected is a lie.

Need Access

I have emailed the developers two times to have access to the app but I have not gotten any response back in the last 10 days. I hope to resolve this issue asap

If you’re a Chicago cop download this app

This is your rainbow book and fop book combined with extra features. The developer is always open new ideas and features. With great updates that come out every month that just make the app more useful.

Awesome app!

Great tool for cpd officers to have! Has just about everything u need! Keep the updates coming! Love the calendar aspect of it.

Only bug I found so far is that sometimes the Notes we add in the calendar don't appear on the dates. If I type in the note again, then it shows the 2 notes. (The original one put in and then the new one I add)

Edit: Note bug is still present on the latest version :/

In any case, I completely redid the coding for the notes feature in v2.1.1 in the hope that the bug would be eliminated and I'm very sorry to hear it hasn't been! Great app..

Use it at work as a reference tool and really like how I can keep track of my OT and the breakdown..really useful for me.

Overtime

Be able to add in comp time even for holidays too

Thanks for the feedback! The holiday time/pay option has been implemented in version 2.1.1. Also, an update is forthcoming which will take into account holiday time and pay for users working 10 and 12 hour shifts. It should be updated in the next few days!

Solid app

This is by far the best app out there for this market. The only things I think need to be done is the ability to add a starting balance for compensatory time. I have quite a few hours on the books and can’t add them. Also the ability to use BFDs, P-Days and V-Days.

Overall experience

Great app. Very beneficial when needing quick information. Only issue is I can’t log in to the page which has the parkers, movers, etc. It keeps telling me the email is not valid, so I’m not sure if I need my department email or personal email is fine. But overall, I enjoy using this app.

This app is superior to Cop App and the FOP app. It's easy to navigate and has many options that can assist you.
