Can’t add more than one dog
Because the app’s home screen is inaccessible due to 1) freezing and 2) button location and size. Unusable app. Ridiculous, why would I even update firmware
This app doesn’t work
The app doesn’t work. Crashes upon login or registration every time. Yet the company is still selling these blue franc collars that are basically useless when the app doesn’t work. Why require a login to make your collar work if you’re not going to maintain the app?
User interface is pathetic
Given the high price of the devices that require this app for configuration & control, you would think that they would put a little thought into the design and functionality of the app. I can’t begin to tell you the number of times that I have attempted to make a simple adjustment to the settings for one of my dogs, only to find that a duplicate configuration file has been created. Trying to determine which is the revised version (without creating, yet another duplicate) so that I can delete the old one, can be a serious pain.
More annoying is the fact that years after the introduction of the iPhone notch, with the system shifting significant items to the upper left and right corners of the screen, this app has not been revised to move the squared-hamburger menu selection button down, below this space. I regularly use the app to check the battery level of the bluefang collars on my three dogs. It is extremely difficult to open the menu and switch between dogs, without accidentally selecting the back/previous-app system option that occupies about half of the same space as the menu button.
Frankly, I’m amazed that Apple hasn’t pulled this app from the store for violating user interface design standards / requirements.

Need Update BAD
I bought the pet containment system and so far so good there. This app however needs some work. It’s been over a year since it’s last update. The toast menu option and ellipsis selection (3 dots) are too high on the screen. An update should easily fix this. I will revise my review if/when this happens.

It works to control collar functions but none of the data is sent back to app
Useless
So hard to use. Haven’t figured it out. It’s very frustrating. Think will return collar if still can as doesn’t allow me to do what I thought it would.

VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY DISAPPOINTING PRODUCT
I have purchased the HC-7000 DELUXE ELECTRONIC DOG FENCE + 2 pieces of the DTS-1 DRIVEWAY CROSSING STRIP + 4 pieces (since I got 4 dogs) of the BF-30 5 BLUEFANG 5-IN-1 SUPER COLLAR for a whopping $830.93 delivered yesterday, set it up today, tried it AND WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. Read previous reviews and I was having the same issues with the app. I think main problem here is the APP!!!! HITECPET NEEDS to PROPERLY UPDATE THE APP!!!

Crap app
This app is the worst. My husband and I have the app on our phones. The app installed fine and synced to the collar for his phone, then when it was time for mine wouldn’t work. It took almost a week of us trying before it suddenly started to work. Since then it is nothing but problems. The app will suddenly close. Not sync to the collar. Lose connection if my dog is more than a couple of feet away. Sometimes it won’t work even if he is next to me… we use it for training and a fence. The collar works great. The app is crap. Wish I would have got a different collar system.

Old App
This app worked well last year. Now it seems to be slow. Changing settings doesn’t always work. Menu setting can take 4 or 5 tries to bring it up. BMI calculator is way off (low) for Standard Poodles.
Can’t Stand It
I use the collars on my 2 dogs and we also got the automatic door. The door works fine but everything is connected to their app which is horrendous. The company needs to spend time updating the app to justify their high costs. The collar batteries die quickly and the app updates almost every time I turn it on which takes about 15 minutes during which time you cannot access the app at all. The app also doubles my dogs profiles, naming them “Bluefang” each time. When I delete the new profile, it deletes the original one too. I’ve been struggling with this nonsense for 6 months and it has not been resolved yet. The collar does not really auto correct barking so don’t expect it to. I will never buy their products again. They are not worth the cost.

Don’t buy
I can’t use the collars because the app doesn’t work. I have two dogs and have spent a lot of money on these collars. Horrible app and new collars.
App needs to be rearranged!
This is first and foremost a training tool. All the stats and things are nice but that is not why I bought the collar. I bought it to train, so the fact that the training menu is not the very first thing I see upon opening the app is maddening. I have to go through 3+ clicks, wait for screens to load because of course there a couple second lag and by then the timing needed for training is ruined. You have to click to reward Or give stimulus at the precise time the dog took the good or bad action or else it’s too late. This app has me missing all those good and bad moments that are crucial to training because it takes way to long to get the tool to open and where I need it to be. It’s makes no sense at all. Another thing that doesn’t make sense it the stimulus duration and setting resets to 0 EVERY TIME you open the app. EVERY TIME. It needs some capability to save common user settings. Again back to the timing thing, I have clicked through 3 times to get to training screen and now I have to adjust settings there. It’s so infuriating. I feel like I wasted money buying this collar because this app makes it so I can barely use the collar.

Agree with dog couldn’t care less...
I agree with the last review. I researched and thought this would be the best and shelled out close to $300 so I could get a decent nights sleep with two barking Great Pyrenees dogs. Shaved their necks and everything. They respect the electric fence and I thought this would be the very thing but evidently that little bitty bit of vibration won’t do it. I’m so disappointed.

My dog could care less about this collar?
Realizing small dogs tend to bark, so much, at every single thing, and being a mini-Aussie she has a lot of fur on her neck- we trimmed her neck and put the collar exactly where it was suggested it go. She is smaller than the average mini, only 16lbs. Should it buzz or click, she looks around with the what’s that noise look- if you try to correct her, nothing - barks right through the static when we have enabled “stop all barking”. Barking history shows she’s never barked a single day since we’ve had it. I upped her weight to see if that made a difference, nothing. I cut the collar down as small as we could make it, very very frustrated. This is the 5-1 collar and I’m very disappointed after reading up on so many training collars - I thought this would be the one to get.
The app is clunky having to keep the phone out while walking - adding to the watch would be awesome. if I could get my dog to respond to it that is....

Unsafe for dogs
My dog has gotten out of the yard twice this week due to the app setting for toggling the fence on and off, turning off on its own. I keep going back in to check and it’s back off. This shouldn’t be something I have to worry about and needs to be fixed yesterday!
Wish it worked!
At first I loved it was working so well for my one dog that I got a second collar. As soon as we added the second dog, started running into problems dropping connections and not being able to find a collar. Also, the plastic on the collar got brittle and broke so now trying to figure a way to connect to his normal collar. Wish you would have made it rechargeable or use off the shelf batteries instead of requiring your own special expensive batteries that last a month at most. Ugghhh

Best Dog Training App
I ordered the app and Bluefang color for the training. I did not realize all the other things this app does. As a training app, it is the only one I have found with multiple training tones to teach specific behaviors. The trainer also has vibration and electric stimulus with one touch level and duration sliders. It is also the only app I’ve seen with positive clicker training.
Add to all that bark control, electronic fence (if you buy their optional transmitter), activity monitoring and control of the automatic dog door and it’s a pretty impressive set of features. Also I just figured out that the activity monitor includes a run mode that tracks pace and calorie burn for dog snd human which is useful if you like to run with your dog.

Waste of money
Half of the time, the app takes so long to get itself together that I don’t even have time to correct my dogs behavior. In between the force closes, random layout changes, and having already gone through 3 batteries in 2 months, I would not recommend this system to anyone.
